Upgrading single speed Super Pump to 2-speed or VS

Objective: To minimize electricity cost while maintaining a daily turnover of at least 2.0.

Present situation: My equipment is described in my signature below.
My intent is to keep the Hayward Super Pump and replace just the 1 HP motor with an appropriate 2-speed or VS motor.

Using the guidance found in Pool Pump Sizing, I determined the Total Head Loss for my present setup and a corresponding flow rates for Super Pump.
(a) w/o Solar heating: Total Head Loss 38 ft Flow rate 54 GPM at 3450 RPM; 27 GPM at 1725 RPM
(b) with Solar heating: Total Head Loss 50 ft Flow rate 39 GPM at 3450 RPM; 19.5 at 1725 RPM

Assumption: 14 hrs operation w/o Solar, pump at 1725 RPM; 10 hrs operation with Solar, pump at 3450 RPM.

Upgrade option A: Use existing Super Pump with a 2-speed 1 HP motor
Using the above numbers I calculated the daily turnover.
14 h x 27 GPM x 60 min. = 22680 gal and 10 h x 39 GPM x 60 min. = 23400 gal
24 h total = 46080 gal Daily turnover = 46080 : 21000 = 2.2

I'd be grateful for comments, suggestions of other options and motor suppliers.
