10 month old swimming in the pool. Do I dilute to make it cya and cc levels lower?

Hello. I'm a new user here at tfp and had been a follower since we had some algae. ( No more algae now! 😊)

So here are my my levels currently:
PH- 7.7
FC- 6.5
CYA- 70
TA- 80
CH- 240

So I have a 10 month old and we've been using the pool, but notice that our eyes sting from the chlorine. I was thinking of dropping down the CYA so we can drop the FC in hopes of making the chemicals milder for our little one. Would that help?

For reference, tap water tends to have higher TA, and we live in Houston so it's pretty sunny with some sprinkles here and there. Also, last we tested from leslies, our phosphates were around 2000s. Should I take care of that as well for my little one?

Thanks y'all.

FC will not make the eyes sting. CC might. Low or High pH likely will.

Are you using sunscreen?

Agreed.

Our FC is 9, CYA is 80, pH is 7.5, and CC is 0; absolutely no eye irritation (you would never notice there is chlorine in the pool).

I don't see anything in your signature as far as what you're using to test your water. Can you update that? Create Your Signature - Further Reading

One of the test results you left out is combined chlorine/chloramines or CC. Can you test that and post your results? As @mknauss noted above, CC will definitely irritate the eyes but then again, so can sunscreen.

What test kit are you using?
How are you chlorinating?
Was your FC reading of 6.5 attained at the beginning of the day or end of the day?
When was chlorine last adding in relation to the FC test?
