Agree with the above. Perhaps even up to 40-60ppm. Then ensure you are keeping the FC above the minimum FC for that CYA according to the [FC/CYA][/FC/CYA].
Even if you bring your CYA up to 40 or 50, your pool will use a little bit of chlorine every single day. Around 2-4ppm is considered normal during the summer months. As Jason said, you just need to test it every day and add whatever is necessary to bring it up according to the [FC/CYA]FC/CYA Chart[/FC/CYA]
