New twist on Raypak High Limit 2 error

I have had issues with my Raypak heater for years getting very frequent Raypak High Limit 2 faults. I have changed the Unitherm governor several times (most recently two weeks ago), the internal bypass, replacing the limit sensors and adding a heat shield. I finally decided that I must have a...

    Ideas on spa leak

Hopefully this helps. I sent the spa from different angles (one showing the jets and one with jets on), the autofill next to the spa, the skimmer, and the pumps, blower and heater and filter. The wetness in the photo was from yesterday's rain, not leakage. Please let me know if you see...

    Ideas on spa leak

I have a 3000 gal spa with it own plumbing system. I have had trouble with leaks for years. Thought it was leaking at the throat of skimmer and did many patches last year. Finally brought in a professional company last year who said the leaks were from the jet tubes and they replaced them...

Now twist on Raypak Hi Limit 2 error

No more High Limit 2 errors since I changed UG. Heater brought temp from 75 to 82 successfully on large pool. Problem solved this time. Thanks for the help.

Now twist on Raypak Hi Limit 2 error

Actually I decided to remove the UG before I saw this. Ended up replacing it (good thing I had a spare from past bad experiences). Seal/gasket was completely warped and I doubt water tight. UG was also badly green. Hopefully it will work better now. I will report back. I did not check...

Now twist on Raypak Hi Limit 2 error

I am reactivating old thread as I seem to have similar issue this year as last. Ran pool heat for first time today. I got consistent HiRes2 shutoff at pool heater at 2500 rpm and 2800 rpm. It now seems to be running with VSP at 3300. My question, why might pump require higher RPM each year to...

Jandy AquaLink Turing Off Pool Pump Seemingly at Random

Thanks for your help. I found and solved the problem. It seems there is a setting on my OneTouch keypads that is not duplicated on the iAqualink screen (at least I cant find it). The setting is part of System Setup and allows you to assign a chlorinator to a pump. Turns out both chlorinator...

Jandy AquaLink Turing Off Pool Pump Seemingly at Random

Here are the two screens that illustrate the problem. I reconnected the AquaPure/spa and the issue remains. Setting says it should be 10%, but it Jandy is sending the pool setting to the spa SWG as well. Only other thing I can think of trying is disconnecting the pool SWG and seeing what...

Jandy AquaLink Turing Off Pool Pump Seemingly at Random

My pool chlorinator is a Hayward AquaRite. My pool water has been just short of 60 degrees since I opened it. The AquaRite operates at 20% when the water is less than 60 degrees, and it does this by turning off after producing some chlorine initially. With the five scheduled starts, I am...

Jandy AquaLink Turing Off Pool Pump Seemingly at Random

Here are the VSP schedules for each pump. I cannot do the AquaPure screen until tomorrow because I disconnected the second (spa) AquaPure from the Jandy. I will reconnect and post a screen shot when its daytime. But for now, suffice it to say my screenshot before I disconnected was similar to...

Jandy AquaLink Turing Off Pool Pump Seemingly at Random

I set up a schedule and did not seem to have issues for a few weeks. But now I have my pump on for 5 different periods during the day (trying to “trick” my AquaRite to make more chlorine as it is operating at 20% capacity while temperatures below 60 degrees), and I have the spa pump running on...

    Century (Regal) VGreen motor automation

It was almost a year ago, but I will try to recap. I needed an older Mac to get coolterm working (one running an older Os - I think 10.13 in my case. Then I needed to google a serial driver for the Mac to run the adaptor in the USB port. Once I installed the serial driver on the mac (I used...

Jandy AquaLink Turing Off Pool Pump Seemingly at Random

Thanks for all the suggestions. I am away for what was supposed to be 48 hours but got extended to 72 hours because of Mets rain postponement. Fortunately I am able to monitor the pool from iPhone and have been able to turn on pump when it goes off. This weekend I will try too more precisely...

Jandy AquaLink Turing Off Pool Pump Seemingly at Random

I am just starting up my system for the season. I have been running the pool pump 24 hours straight as I SLAM. I noticed the pump turned itself off at the Jandy (so the Jandy went to pool pump off, not the pool pump itself reset). Confused I set up a program to run the pump 23 hours, off at...

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

Sorry to report that leak came back after about a week. Slower but the “fix” seems to break down when the jets get used. I am going to have to repair the piping this fall. I’ll report back with photos when done

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

Have used spa at 104 degrees with full jets and blower and no leaking for a week. Seems like the fix-a-leak took better this time. I believe maintaining pH in good range below 8 made a difference. The tricky part is that the fix-a-leak itself is pH 12.

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

After 5 days of running with autofill on, the salt concentration has remained constant at 2900. That is a victory in step one as the leak has been plugged. But I have let the sap step stay at its natural 80 degrees plus/minus. Will heat to 104 and turn on the jets over the next few days and...

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

On round two, leak stopped on second day after treatment. I am now going to let the pool sit until Wednesday to cure, and then filter out the medium. pH has been maintained at 7.5-7.6 this round. Hopefully it will make a difference.

    Century (Regal) VGreen motor automation

Happy to report back that the v-Green pump has integrated perfectly with my Jandy automation as an ePump - been functioning without a single issue for about three months. Set up on Macintosh laptop just once and everything since done through Jandy automation (touch panels, iAqualink interface...

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

A few things based on my discussions with manufacturer. Run pump only on low speed if possible. Too much agitation makes it hard to fill leak. Also watch the pH. Adding second bottle made pH too high for me. I am about to retreat as my new shipment of product just arrived. I sealed the leak...

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

Sad to report that leak came back, though not as bad as it was. I am not sure if the issue was time, pump agitation, or lowering pH. I sent an email to the manufacturer to see if they had thoughts on the pH. I read the in the product reviews on Amazon that others have seen the fix break down...

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

Note that fix-a-leak use for five days ran many of my chemical level amok. pH rose to 9.6 (measured by pH meter) and took 28 oz of 31.45% muriatic acid to bring back into range. Also had to bring CYA back up, although I overshot and wonder if the fix-a-leak somehow gave me a falsely low CYA...

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

Treated pool (actually spa) with fix-a-leak for 5 days and all my chemistry went out of whack, with pH over 9.7 and CYA down to 20 (mainly because of leak). Added acid to bring pH down and it took many rounds to get it below 8. But I overshot the last round (and added boric acid and CYA...

Spa held salt concentration overnight. First time in two years (and maybe longer - first time since I started monitoring daily)

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

Ran the robot in the spa for 2 hours and then restored cartridge to filter and rand for a few hours. Removed lots of gunk (I assume the particles of residual fix-a-leak). In the process, I noticed my pH increased from 7.6 or so before fix-a-leak addition to 9.7 on my pH meter. Took 28 ounces...

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

Filtering out the medium today. Spa lost 1/4 inch over 24 hours. Major improvement from 2 inches. Will see how I do in terms of salt loss PPM when I have everything up and running again, but I had been losing on average 200 PPM / day of salt.

Leak at skimmer / tile line of spa - been at this for over a year now

Pump ran 12 hours yesterday (intended for only 6 but I messed up) and it rained a bit so water loss hard to measure. Seems like I lost a bit less than 1/4 inch of water, out of it in the 12 hours including overnight after pump went off (as opposed to while pump running). Stirred water one last...
