thanks...so when the lights are 'cycling' those clicks I hear are simply a contactor openingm and closing to adjust the lights by powering on and off? That seems to make sense. (IE all the smartness are integrated into the lights...the 'controller' is just a fancy lightswitch?)

Since you have done some researching, and I have not yet. My understanding this will plug into existing Jandy transformer question is is the existing aqualink setup capable of controlling the lights. After 10 years my last Jandy finally gave up.

The mk rebar kit was the ONLY thing that worked on our master temp pentair...3 mice intrusions in the first 3 years of ownership ... none since installing g the kit...heater works perfectly as well...seems expensive for what it is but everything was cut perfectly and took 5 minutes with a drill...

yea, I won't be using a cover so that's my issue....we get great sun in the afternoons, only use the heater a few times a year just with company or to extend the season but it all leaves overnight. Like the idea of solar just don't know if it would really help much...or at least not help...

I have had two fail...( same location) one under warranty. For me it was 2 out of 10 but I have fished some wire in the past....fish tape and patience I would think you could do it just fine...there expensive little f**rs though. Separate note....the one I replaced doesn't sync color wise...

Noticeable pool temp or real feel results? Gut feeling in my application it won't help much on the days I want it. ( gets to 85-87 on hot sunny days without heater...5 degree swing between dark and light Sent from my iPhone while driving :)

edit.....thanks pool clown. I dug deeper into the wires, taped any wire with any sign of damage...and now the heater is running : ) cheap me wants to cancel order for new wire harness....practical me will probably let the harness show up and keep it until it breaks again. Thanks to all for...
