Dolphin Supreme M Series Owner’s Club

Sorry for a late reply, but I’m updating two threads in this forum shortly. I’m about to do another refurb on mine as I did three years ago, and will leave more detail on another thread. I’m starting my 7th season with the M5, and right now there is no end in sight. It could crash before summer...

    brush bristles coming off

A good quality brush wont lose bristles, or it will be extremely minimal. Mine stays in the Sun and it hasn't degraded. After four years, this is worn down, but not a brittle bristle one. These are top quality, and UV protected, so they dont break down like the cheapy white nylon bristle type...

    Robotic vs Automatic

Quality Robots have their own power source, powerful suction coupled with great filtering with concentrated focus on cleaning rather than random movement that pressure cleaners, and suction cleaners provide. They are simply better technology all around, and do a lot better job than other...

    Polaris Wheels slow / stopped?

Thanks for the info! Im sure some polaris owners will find this helpful.

    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Yea they would tangle no doubt. The robot will do fine up the the ledge, but beyond it is doubtful to be sure.

Can M500 clear Paramount SDX drain covers?

My advice in that case is get the M5 and never look back. I seriously doubt you'll regret it.

Can M500 clear Paramount SDX drain covers?

I'm sorry I can't say for sure, but they make special covers to go over normal ones like that which lower the profile, and allow Bots to travel over them. They will be pretty large in diameter to lessen the projection, but way cheaper than a new Bot. I don't know of any covers the 500s get stuck...

    Polaris 280 hose alternatives

Welcome Mike! I'm not really sure. I guess that's all the pool suppliers have on hand? Surely you'd think there was an aftermarket demand.

Bags or bottom loaders with carts are not as easy as top loaders with carts or basket setups.

16x48 intex pool automatic cleaner question

Welcome to TFP neighbor! Usually, they do much better with more pump. I didn't have a great experience with them, and I had a pretty decent sand filter set up.

    Polaris TurboTurtle

It very likely is, and perhaps more time laying it out to relax will improve it's tendency to coil as badly.

Polaris 380 getting stuck against wall.

Boy, I just don't know never having one of these, but I know this has come up many times. Hoping a bump here will help you out.

    Dolphin M500 vs Active 30i

Yea, mine definitely stick up with the anti-suction design, and I dont know the brand, but If I had this problem, I would hace to get those extra "flat dome" things to remedy this. For whatever reason, I have never seen my cleaner get stuck this way.

    Dolphin M500 vs Active 30i

Wow, that's really nice. Based on the many, posts from members I trust, it doesn't seem like you can go wrong with one of those. Based on my experience with mine, I am very leary of trying anything else as a purchase. I would so love having one for a short to do a fair comparison with.

    Dolphin M500 vs Active 30i

So does it ever get off on it's own? That would annoy me to distraction thinking my bot will be stuck somewhere when I walk off or run him at night on delay. Setting and forgetting is one of the highlights of having a Robot to me.

    Dolphin M500 vs Active 30i

It's the round ones on main drains I've seen mentioned most often, and some owners place those extra covers over them to lessen the drain cover profile. It seems some owners feel like the bottom brush helps the M series out with this, but I don't know honestly. I dont have special covers, and...

    Doheny jet drive ??

Let me tell you, once you have vacuumed a pool and then used a good robot you'll wonder why anyone would ever do that again. Having one makes pool care SO much easier, and I would tell any friend thata good robot is a must with an outdoor pool of any size.

    Doheny jet drive ??

Welcome to TFP Buckmaster! I am not sure about those, but I would ask in the Dohenny fan club thread. I am sure someone there can add more than me, as I'm more knowledgeable on the Dolphin M series. I will say yes, if it's a good cleaner, it well worth $500 or more for any size pool. Especially...

Convince me a robot is better...

They say they can't be left in the pool, and they aren't upposed to be, but we all do it. And who says you have to remove them after each cycle? You might want too if it's a heavy duty cycle, but I don't every time. It just depends on what was in there. Robots actually clean the pool unlike...

Convince me a robot is better...

Here's some silt. I have it pretty much daily when it's windy and dry. Which, is a lot of days out here. What these things can do is pretty impressive. I don't have this much daily, but let a few days pass or a good sand storm or two, and it adds up pretty fast.

    Pool cleaner advice

At some point it will be, and it and the other pump will use electricity (a lot more than a Robot) and never do as well. Suction cleaners can't even compete. Spend a grand now, and be happy for years and years with a way cleaner pool, save money, and enjoy the pool even more.

Convince me a robot is better...

You think that thing cleans the pool until you have a robot that really does. This is another thing we hear over and over. If there is something out there that cleans better, I can't imagine it.

    Dolphin Premier M5 - 4th Season Refurb

Sure! My pleasure....and thanks for the kind words. You need to pull the side panels off to see Greg. It's a long story, and I didn't include it but I had to replace two of mine during the refurb. I remember asking where it came from one weekend when I came home last summer. Styro beads...

What does robot intelligence really mean?

I believe this is true, and makes complete sense. And they do (or mine does) "scope things out" beginning each cycle, so there is something to the learning what to do question. However, I really do think it's a one off every single time.

    Dolphin Premier M5 - 4th Season Refurb

In this picture, you can see a piece that will fit into the end of the long tube. Use a larger flat blade screwdriver to ease it out. It acts as a flange to hold the rod in place, and once removed it makes it much easier to remove the brushes. A little pressure is then needed to remove the rod...

    Dolphin Premier M5 - 4th Season Refurb

To remove the side covers, there are snap tabs holding it in place, located along the bottom edge, but first remove the four Phillips head #2 screws. After removing those, simply insert a small, flat (thin bladed) screwdriver into these and press the tab upward. You'll feel it release if you...
