    Craters on bottom of pool

I do not know. We bought the house and the pool in 2020. They seem more prominent in the shallow end but there is some everywhere it seems.

    Craters on bottom of pool

We have owned this pool since beginning of 2020. It is an older pool built probably around 2006ish. It had had the liner relo laced and the current liner is about 4 years old. I have noticed that there are what looks like hills and craters in the lined surface. It seems like it has gotten...

    Good economical sequestering agent?

My water never looks green or unclear though even when bringing to shock level. Does that mean the iron is not precipitating out?

    Good economical sequestering agent?

Sounds good. I will look into that. I am confident I have iron. I guess ideally, I would like to remove the iron so I guess I will get to work on that.

    Good economical sequestering agent?

I see. Yeah I did check out some of that. I have a long gutter close to my pool. I will look into rigging that to catch some water for the pool. I am wondering if my fill water is responsible. Are there recommended test kits to check ppm of iron in my pool and also my fill water?

    Good economical sequestering agent?

I did read through the top but didn’t see the one about filtering. Thank you for sharing. So the iron can be filtered out then? Even if in solution?

    Good economical sequestering agent?

I have identified stains on my pool liner are iron by doing the vitamin c in a sock test. It was amazing how the stain lifted immediately when I moved the sock across the stain! I immediately ordered a bucket of ascorbic acid and have it coming to the house. I am following the ascorbic...

high CYA, water replacement, and balancing afterwards

Yes sir, that’s what I did! I just didn’t have a good means to throttle flow on the downstream side to match my upstream flow. I calculated by the time my exchange was done there would be enough level remaining in the pool. I did buy a ball valve for next time so I can pinch back the flow on...

high CYA, water replacement, and balancing afterwards

Did water exchange but my outgoing was higher than my incoming by 5.2 gpm. Drained pool for approx 13 hours it left about a third in the shallow end. I cut the submersible pump off and let my water hoses fill up the pool to acceptable level. After circulating a couple hours, I ran my tests. Got...

    Where to drain my water

I am a new chlorine pool owner after buying our house. I need to perform a water exchange to lower the cya. I am wondering where I can send the exchanged water. I am going to use a submersible pump 1/3 hp superior pump. We are on septic and don’t have sewer where we are at. I have neighbors. I...

    Liquid chlorine raising ph??

thanks for the input everyone. I did buy some liquid chlorine and am stuck with this 50 lb tub of cal hypo so I guess I will get to experience both. I am going to be draining the pool this weekend to get rid of the excess CYA and bring it back down to 30 to start the season.

    Liquid chlorine raising ph??

I was at a Leslie’s pool store trying to return this 50lb bucket of cal hypo. They wouldn’t let me return in because of their policy. Ok then.. but the guy asked me why I am wanting to return. I said I wanted to go the liquid chlorine route because that is what I have been reading in some books...

high CYA, water replacement, and balancing afterwards

I bought a home with a pool (Approx 21000 gal, chlorine, vinyl liner) and am new to pool care. I want to do the pool myself. I have read a lot on the forum and have read a couple books in preparation. I performed chemical testing on the pool using the tyler technologies k2006c and have my...
