If you are performing a SLAM no need to raise your CYA at this time. Keeping your CYA at 40 is just fine that is what I keep mine at, but if you raise it while performing the SLAM you will just have to buy more LC.

With those tabs in the chlorinator you are working against yourself by adding more CYA. Take them out and only use liquid chlorine for the SLAM process.

I do believe the experts are going to say get your CYA up a little since you have a salt water pool. It will be easier to maintain proper FC levels at higher CYA.

Get that PH down by using muriatic acid and the TA will also go down. Not too far off at all. As for the hot tub I am sure someone else will come along and help with that. Use the Pool Math app to help with how much to add.

24-48 hours after adding cya you can test it takes a bit to fully dissolve and circulate. Need to know your CYA before starting the slam. Might not need to slam though, maybe just keep the FC elevated for a couple days and brush the pool. I am sure someone with more knowledge will come along. I...
