    Contact Information For HASA?

Can someone give me a telephone number for Hasa? Had a neighbor taking care of my LQ while on vacation and he broke my incoming float. I went to the Hasa website and the only method of contact listed is email, so I sent one, but have not received a reply and now I can't get the website up as I...

    Liquidator Issues

If you don't want to go without chlorine you can run the pump until you get a change to check the check valve.

    Refilling Liquidator

Thanks Dave. I thought the valve was a good idea too, but I do not have an extra one. I do have the bungee cord. Did you let the water rise above the in float when you were pouring the bleach in?

    Refilling Liquidator

Yes the manual states refilling when it gets to two inches, so I will start with a little more than 2". So when the pump is off it will drain?

    Refilling Liquidator

OK, I am finally installing my Liquidator and have an operating question. When I get hooked up I want to give it a test run by putting in a gallon of bleach and running it for 24 hours. I assume it will fill up with water. When i get ready to fill it with bleach as I pour the bleach in how do...

    Best check valve for Liquidator

I was going to ask about the 3/8." I think I will go with 3/8" as much as possible. Since the Flow gauge requires 1/4" I will have to use 3/8" barbed because I can't find a 3/8" speed fit x 1/4" NPT. I only found a 3/8" SMC needle valve with barbs at US Plastics, so I will use that as well...

    Best check valve for Liquidator

So, I have a used Liquidator and I need to replace the check valves. I have seen the original grey ones, the little white John Guest ones, some black ones that Rabbit used, and there may be others. Has any one of these turned out to be more reliable? Is there another better choice?

Can I determine whether a Liquidator check valve is good before I install it?

Will the Liquidator work in my setup

Thanks Dave. If it turns out I need to change the plumbing, would it be best to decrease the size of the pvc or run more pipe to make it a longer run? Would either of these increase the suction head?

Will the Liquidator work in my setup

I do have a ball valve between the skimmer and the pump. The pressure runs about 8 and it rarely gets high enough to require backwashing. Normally it runs around 8 for months. I usually backwash a couple of times during the summer just because I want to and not because the pressure has gone up.

Will the Liquidator work in my setup

I am interested in the Liquidator, but not sure it will work without a modification of my plumbing. My pump sits directly below the skimmer with a 2" pvc pipe between them. The straight down drop is about 30". I don't understand the physics, but I have read that there needs to be resistance...

I've defected to the dark side! New peristaltic pump

Thanks for sharing. That's about what I thought. The two are within $50 or less of each other. When I make the move, I think I will make it to the pump. No white stuff to contend with and I do have a very short straight down suction from the skimmer, so with the LQ I might have to close my...

Bama, If you don't mind sharing the information what was your total costs for the Liquidator + upgrades/add ons and the Stenner pump + upgrades/add ons?

    220 TA, PH about 8

I use a basic kit to test PH and although it is not precise it works well enough since the ideal PH is a range, not a specific number. I have learned to stay out of pool stores. Not only are their tests not as reliable as my own, but they always try to confuse me with suggestions that will...

What is the 'Down' side of the Liquidator / Liquid Chlorine

Re: What is the 'Down' side of the Liquidator / Liquid Chlor Nightmare, You need to get you a good test kit like the TF100 and start doing your own testing. I say this unequivocally based on my personal experience. I have had pools for several years and relied on the pool store for the...

Does length of suction side pipe matter to Liquidator?

Thanks Mark and Dave. I will follow Mark's advice. Since I have the flexable pipe and the liquidator calls for PVC and since I want to add another return and some valves I plan to re-plumb the whole system. I will do it with 1.5 inch pipe and then if the liquidator needs it I will add the...

Does length of suction side pipe matter to Liquidator?

So Mark would you suggest I keep the 1.5 inch suction pipe and if I do not install at the pump drain plug I insert a short section of 1 inch or 3/4 inch pipe before the pump and attach the liquidator there? I had planned on using a 2 inch suction pipe and keeping the 1.5 for the return based on...

Does length of suction side pipe matter to Liquidator?

I am getting ready to replace my flexible pipe with pvc in anticipation of adding the Liquidator. At present I have an ABG with the skimmer almost directly above the pump. It is a straight drop from the skimmer to the pump of about 3 feet. I remember reading somewhere that the Liquidator...

    Liquidator installed below pool level

Bama, I don't understand check valves enough to understand your reasoning. But, what I get from your post is the check valves will not work properly when the LQ water level is close to the water level of the pool. However, the picture of Barnyard's setup on page 5 shows the top of the LQ at...
