    Pool volume for Autopilot

I replaced my autopilot whose screen failed. I'd like to input the pool volume into my autopilot for the salt adjustment calculation, only I don't know how many gallons the pool is. It seemed accurate before, but without the screen I could not determine what volume the autopilot was using. The...

Display Blank on Autopilot but Still Working

The display is blank today on my Autopilot digital, but it appears to be otherwise working. My forum search suggests I should check the wiring harness(done, I reseated the connectors, no improvement) and then replace part 833N, the upper circuit board. The part seems to run about 300 bucks. Is...

    Autopilot Digital Random Salt Cravings

Thanks AmwillG. I see your point, if the heater reaches the setpoint, it will stop running. I have a new aquacal variable speed pump, it tends to run a very long cycle, but maybe it will be less when the whether warms up. The temperature difference also depends on how fast the pump is running...

    Autopilot Digital Random Salt Cravings

6 hours in the vinegar seemed to do the trick, now reading 3000ppm. Chlorine is at 2.5ppm without the heater on so I guess if I run the heater with the temp reading 10 degrees higher than it should, it might bost the chlorine a bit. Hopefully I can find setting where the overshoot doesn't get me...

    Autopilot Digital Random Salt Cravings

Well won't it overchlorinate on days when we heat the pool? The water passing the sensor could be 5-10 degrees warmer than the pool depending on how fast the pump is running. I thought, did we make a mistake? But I don't think you want the SWG before the heat pump, that would put a lot of wear...

    Autopilot Digital Random Salt Cravings

Thanks, I'll give it a shot this weekend. Any comment on the heat pump temperature distoration issue with the autopilot?

    Autopilot Digital Random Salt Cravings

Thanks. No muriatic acid on site, I use dry acid when I need it, which is not often. Any reason not to use vinegar?

    Autopilot Digital Random Salt Cravings

Every now and then my autopilot digital starts blinking that darn red light and demanding 40, or 80 or 107 lbs of salt, but when I test the water with a taylor kit I bought to help with this situation, the salt ppm is good. I don't really want to pay for and dump hundreds of excess lbs of salt...

Autopilot DIG-220 Repair Success with TFP Help

Thanks ping. I checked the pool after about a week running at 85% for 10hrs and found the chlorine level to be greater than 15ppm, I stopped the test at that point to avoid wasting my reagent, it was starting to lighten after about 25 drops. The pool gets a decent amount of sunlight, but most...

Autopilot DIG-220 Repair Success with TFP Help

Thanks for your replies folks. The pool is at a seasonal home and I'm not there everyday to test the level, so I'm hoping to start somewhat close to the right level since I can't make as frequent adjustments. Also curious if there is any affordable way to automate the testing and adjustment of...

Autopilot DIG-220 Repair Success with TFP Help

I wanted to post my experience repairing my DIG-220 using info in posts from this forum, since the posts I read were so helpful and perhaps the additional information can be of use to future troubleshooters. I have a pool that I'm told was redone in 2013 by the previous owner. I have an...
