Can any of you fine folk who recommended I purchase an Echo srm 225 help me?

What head came with your SRM-225? I imagine it was a bump type head that came with it base on what I saw at my local Echo dealer.

Who is this and why do his frinds like my pool?

I've seen a few of those in out pool and skimmer this year. Mean looking pinchers.

    Rain filled pool

I've had to pump mine down twice in the last month due to rain. No runoff can get into the pool thankfully, so just clean rainwater. Though I do need to bring my CH and CYA levels back up to normal, but I may have to hold off since there's more rain in the forecast for the weekend.

    Want to test your skimmers?

You're not the only one. I get to deal with this mainly due to my returns not having eyeballs. My returns are simple PVC pipe cut flush with the plaster wall, no way to alter the direction. I end up will leaves and debris going right past the skimmer and make the full circle around the pool. I...

    OK Geniuses

You can... just don't count on the toilet's hardware to like it very much. The metallic stuff will start to corrode, and the rubber seals will degrade as well. But on the bright side, the bowl will be sparkly clean. :D One other thing, the Clorox toilet tablets are 3.5 oz and last for 3 months...

What did you do to your pool today?

Looks like I'll be pumping water out when I get home from work. The pool is completly topped out, over 7½" of rain yesterday

What did you do to your pool today?

Added chlorine, and saw that the pool had risen an inch and a half since yesterday. Can someone shut off the rain please? :)

    Weed Wacker help!

Echo's are awesome! The straight shafts seem more awkward for edging. You have to hold them sideways and angle them in to keep the line perpendicular. A bit trickier. My curved shaft, I just flip upside down and spin the D handle around and stand behind it. Seems simpler that way :)

    Weed Wacker help!

That's why I treat my small equipment gas with Stabil. Even with that, it will not prevent the carbs from gumming up if left to sit for too long (that goes for both regular gas and ethanol blends). My equipment with diaphragm carburetors (handheld two strokes) usually drain back to the tank when...

    Weed Wacker help!

Ethanol has a bad reputation that it doesn't quite deserve. Don't get me wrong though, it does have a few issues of its own, namely its affinity for water (since it's an alcohol), and is not compatible with old rubber fuel lines and seals. That said, we have had carburetor and fuel problems as...

    Weed Wacker help!

1 bottle (2.6 oz) to one gallon of gas (50:1 ratio), is plenty. Running two bottles of the oil will put the mix at 25:1 and have a lot more oil than needed. All of my Echo's and my outboard motors run nicely on 50:1, exactly what's specified for all of them. Older engines needed the heavier mix...

    Weed Wacker help!

Is there an Echo in here? :D I fourth an Echo. I have one I bought 9 years ago, the GT-230. It has the "bump head" spring loaded spool. It is a great trimmer that has not let me down, ever. To go with that, the Echo Crossfire trimmer string/line they sell is good stuff too. My dad had an older...

What did you do to your pool today?

I did my weekly test, brushed the pool, and changed out the skimmer sock this morning. Added CYA for the first time ever to bring that back up (was somewhere around 10).

What did you do to your pool today?

I lowered the PH a little, and added chlorine. Changed out my pressure gauge with the new one I ordered from TF Test Kits. And lastly I messed around with my Polaris 360. I have pine trees too, but thankfully they are in the front yard. :)

    Let's See Your Test Kit!

Here's all the stuff I use on the pool. The only thing I left out was the sample bottle I use for the weekly test. From left to right: - Most important thing is the log book. I keep track of the weekly test results and anything big I do to the pool/equipment. - The amazing TF-100 and...

    Scuba!

That's where I was certified as well! I really miss that island, lots of awesome dives. The reefs were amazing. I didn't do any of the wreck dives, or the Blue Hole. I did get to do a nice drift dive out by Cocoa's Island, and a really neat night dive at the Piti bomb hole. jbizzle, those are...

    Bullfrogs driving me crazy

Tastes like chicken! I get the little frogs in our pool. Unfortunately, they get in, but can't get out and I find them dead later. Thankfully not many of them them, and I've yet to see a bullfrog.

Talk about your pool cleaner - Earn $30

A Polaris 360 came with our house when we moved in last August, so I guess I'm out of the survey. It did an ok job considering it was only 2 wheel drive (out of three) and was nearly worn out and sun faded. I just rebuilt it last week, and it does a lot better now. I like it because it runs off...

    WHY Did You Find TFP?

We wanted a house with a pool so I jumped online and started looking up proper care for a pool. That brought me here where I lurked for a while and read nearly everything in pool school. I enjoy being able to fix and maintain my own things, and I like to understand why I am doing something, and...

    How did YOU find TFP?

We wanted to buy a house with a pool when I transferred duty stations. So I hit up Google to learn proper pool care, which led me here. First Swim of the Season is in the Books

Yeah, we don't play for long when the water is in the low 70's. However it feels good when I do lap swimming, aside from the initial jump in. 80's is good during the summer. I find that colder water is more tolerable as long as the air temperature is higher than the water temperature. I really...

First Swim of the Season is in the Books

Ours was in the mid 60's two weeks ago, even hit 63º during a warm spell in February. We had our first swim last weekend. Our boys were having a water gun fight in the backyard. I surprised one by picking him up and tossing him in! Water was low 70's so we didn't stay in too long.

    Practice fishing in the pool?

I suppose a plaster pool has it's advantages for dealing with hooks. Nice to see I'm not the only one with this idea. :)
