Zero chlorine all of a sudden

i don’t think you’re running your swg long enough. a t3 produces about a half a pound of chlorine gas over 24 hours. in your 9k gal pool, that’s about 7ppm of chlorine per 24 hr day at 100%. that’s .3 fc/hour (at 100%). so your 9am to 5pm pump runtime would only give you a 2.7ppm increase in fc...

Continued Black Algae issues due to CYA over 200

take a 5 gallon bucket and time how long it takes to fill it. use that number and divide it out. then you’ll have a pretty good estimate on how long it will take mike

    Vacation Management Plan for Critique

have you considered floating some pucks in there? maybe take cya to 50 and put a floater in. btw, i’ve had a few full sun days so far, air temp 85-90. when my cya was at 30ppm, i had an fc loss of 5-5.5ppm . i just raised the cya back to 50, but still loose 3.5 to 4

Cloudy Water After Heavy Rain/First SLAM

i had a similar event last august. we had a giant wind storm followed by heavy rain. my pristine pool looked like a farm pond in two hours because of all the dirt that the storm carried with it. your event likely carried a lot of pollen with it too. mine cleared up in about three days of...

    a little green algae

to check your chlorine, use pool math an increase your fc to number that you like. then recheck it in 30 mins or so. if it tested at the level you expected, your fine. btw, my chlorine from july 2018 was almost completely dead

Is this algae? Noticed in on my steps.

i think he meant his fc is 18... i think he said his cya was 50

Is this algae? Noticed in on my steps.

it’s important to slam at the correct fc/cya ratio. in addition, your fc needs to be checked very often, especially at first

Is this algae? Noticed in on my steps.

if you raise your cya , it will take more bleach to slam

    Green algae nuisance

that will be a tough one to SLAM with a cya of 90, not to mention the cya level could be twice that number. i would get the recommended test kit a do a diluted cya test so you know. it’s possible that a water change is in order
