I’m back in the water business with a new hot tub!

Thanks for the response @tmm1. I just saw that SmartSpa system. That looks great. Since I already have ozone it makes sense. I shouldn’t need much capacity either. Where did you get yours? How much did you pay? As for the water softener, I’m hoping it doesn’t hurt anything because that’s what...

I’m back in the water business with a new hot tub!

Hey everyone! I missed you. I sold my home a couple years ago and left a TFP maintained pool and hot tub. I’ve just now acquired a used (2015) LPI X-12. The deck is built. Wiring is going in as we speak. Big strong people are on the way to haul all 975lbs off the trailer and onto the spot made...

Down converting from 240 to 120V Marquis Leisure tub from about 2002

Did you figure this out yet? This panel is very similar to the Balboa in my Jacuzzi. I have had to do a lot of work on it. Lots of problems with the mechanical solenoids. So I am somewhat familiar with it if you still need help. When I zoom into your wiring diagram pic, it gets a little blurry...

    Bromine spa regular oxidizer amounts

Thanks bbrock. That's what I was expecting. But it would drop right away. I think my 'free, used' hot tub had some goo in the tubes. It's holding now but on the next drain it's getting ahhhhh-some. On that note, a free hot tub is worse than a free puppy. Seriously would have been better off...

    Test kit for bromine

I did the test again this morning on my pool water. Again 10mL samples. 35 drops r-0871, 36 drops r-0872. So I must have done something wrong the last time I tried to compare them. My speedstir will be here today or tomorrow. I think that will help too.

    Test kit for bromine

I bought a bottle of R-0872 to go with my K2006C kit in order to test specifically for Bromine, having the same thoughts as OP. After I learned that either will test for FC AND bromine, I just left the R-0872 in the kit. Out of curiosity one day I repeated a FAS/DPD test in my pool water using...

    Bromine testing

I'm having a hard time getting a grip on what's going on with my spa so I bought some r-0872 to go with my K-2006C kit components. I thought the r-0872 would work with the r-0870 powder to show Bromine (and not chlorine). After adding bleach and letting it mix then testing three times with OTO...

Can't keep BR levels up in spa

I thought I had chosen using bromine and bleach as an oxidizer. Now you have me second guessing myself! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can't keep BR levels up in spa

Two part question: Background- 220gal jacuzzi, 2 speed, cartridge filter, filled in March with city water, TA and pH balanced to 70 TA and pH stable around 7.5 when aeriating. It is a tub we were given which I replaced the pump and some plumbing but never did an ahhh-some treatment to. I added...

    Jacuzzi H-490000 flow switch problem

I cannot get the flow sensing switch set right on this tub. It screws into the end of the heater and senses pressure so the control board knows when the pump turns on or off. The problem seems to be, it is a very small tub (220gal) and having it set right when no one is in it means when two...

    Bromine spa regular oxidizer amounts

From the sticky, @chem geek said: How do I use Bromine in my spa (or pool)? You could just add some bleach or MPS, up to you (bleach is less expensive, of course). Each fluid ounce of 6% bleach in 350 gallons would increase the bromine level by around 3 ppm. Can I calculate my oxidizer...
