Can't tell from your photos; is there exposed copper? If not the wire is probably fine...just wrap some e-tape around it.

Really!? That sounds like something a few plumbing/valving changes can correct.

It certainly can! If you keep adding enough to raise it to 30 or so, you should see it decrease less quickly each time.

Re: Installed in concrete, doesn't work, lost cause? (see pi Well...fill 'er up and see if the pump runs! That's the first thing...if it leaks badly, it may be a lost cause, or at least an expensive repair. If it doesn't leak, you can see what works, what doesn't and go from there!

Temperature affects the refractive index of materials...you get a similar effect dissolving sugar in tea, or salt in pool water, whatever.

What is "small" to one person might not be to another...it comes down to how many people do you think will want to use the spa at the same time? You can probably fit 5 or so in there comfortably, similar to CombatYoga above. If you're anticipating more people, I don't think extending the rest...

Good question; usually you don't need to push air that deep. Unless someone else stops by that can answer, your best bet might be to call the manufacturer of the blower(s) you're looking at; hopefully they could tell you.

Re: Newbie Question: How to access plumbing of inground spa So, do you have a spa with a leak, or just trying to think ahead? Really, the only way to do it is digging. Having a paver deck does make this much simpler.

Duke, welcome to TFP! I don't know the answers to your questions, but I don't want this to fall off everyone's radar. Most of the service guys who know about this stuff are real busy this time of year opening pools, but hopefully someone will stop by who can help you.

Keep in mind also that bigger = more $$ to heat it. An 8-foot round spa contains almost twice as much water as a 6-foot, so it will take almost twice as much gas and twice as much time to heat. My parents' spa is 6' and we've packed 10 people into it (albeit somewhat tightly). I wouldn't...

Welcome to TFP! Whatever the spa is placed on needs to be completely compacted; crushed stone is best. I'm not sure about the stone adhering to the acrylic; I would think that the installer would be familiar with whatever is needed to make sure the mortar sticks. Sorry I can't be more help!

In a spa, low CH sometimes causes excessive foaming. If you don't find that to bean issue, 85 is fine in your spa.

Richard, very concise and informative answer...but you switched the sample sizes! :P Each drop of titrant in a 10 mL sample represents 1.125 ppm bromine, and each drop in a 25 mL sample is 0.45 ppm :goodjob: .....right?

It's low pH that causes the damage, and dry acid can cause that just as easily as MA. I'm guessing that MA is just easier to overdose than dry acid.

Boojay, I'm not sure we understand exactly what you're asking. My impression from reading your post is that you currently use chlorine or bromine in your spa, and want to use some Baquacil-labeled products, is that right? If that's what you mean, then yes, you can use some of them. You can't...
