    Intex 1.25" to PVC 1.5

That's easy. There should be lots of hose barbs at the local hardware/big box store that will attach to that with hose clamps and thread into a PVC female fitting.

    Intex 1.25" to PVC 1.5

This is an old thread of how to adapt PVC to an Intex pool. Probably not exactly what you're looking for but might offer a nugget of insight to the problem. Create intex adapters. Step by step. Lots of embedded photos I actually have an adapter that connects the end of an Intex hose to a PVC...

In-ground newbie -- I'm in the weeds now!

After several seasons with my Intex above-ground pool, we're moving to a new house and I've adopted a vinyl-lined in-ground pool! Problem is, I know very little about this aged pump and filter and I haven't found any information about them online. The filter is a Sta-Rite D.E. spin filter (33...

Use and care for DE filters

Why the need to partially drain the filter before bumping? Hayward doesn't mention this in their description of the process. How can that damage the filter?

Diagnosing DE filter/cellulose problems & solutions

Re: Diagnosing DE filter/cellulose problems & solutions I will concede that my using softened well water to refill is probably adding a bit of iron oxide to the mix, although I rarely need to use sequestrant to clear it up. I have been faithful in maintaining chlorine levels and this...

Diagnosing DE filter/cellulose problems & solutions

I have a Hayward DE filter/pump rigged to my ABG Intex pool (see signature for details) that has had nothing but FiberClear fed through it as a medium. I bought it brand new and it's been in service for three seasons, and it seems as though every season it has become progressively more difficult...

    Sucking air with vacuum attached

If you have the idiotic vacuum relief feature on those Intex valves, as I do, you have to have the clear rubber cap that goes onto the nipple to stop air from entering the system. They are easy to lose and I almost threw mine away when installing the pool, not knowing exactly for what they used.

    Drain for Hayward DE filter

Thanks to both kiss4afrog and jblizzle for the responses. I ended up going with a 1-1/2" PVC male adapter right into the bottom of the filter, including the original O-ring and PVC thread dope. If I did it again I would probably knock off the hex shoulders of the adapter where it interferes with...

    Drain for Hayward DE filter

Thanks. I could do that, I know. I was just hoping someone had done it and would know exactly what to get. Maybe I'll have time to take it down and run to Lowe's.

    Drain for Hayward DE filter

I have the Hayward EC50C90 Series D.E. filter (Fiber Clear cellulose charged) and it has a drain on the bottom for cleaning and, well, draining! As it stands now, once or twice a season I have to drain the filter to remove the built-up crud in the bottom, but it makes a big mess if I just open...

    Stock pump too small?

It depends on how long you see yourself sticking with this pool. I had one for two years before we upgraded to the larger Ultra Frame with a Hayward pump and filter. The little Intex pump is just a lot more filter cleaning.

Is this pump up to the job?

Now that I have the new Hayward gas heater plumbed into the system and the solar panels are no longer lying in the grass, I am considering my options for the solar. I had considered leaving them and plumbing them along with the gas heater, but I wasn't sure how that would work. If I put them...

Well, that didn't work out so well/Intex/Hayward conversion

Re: Well, that didn't work out so well/Intex/Hayward convers Here's my thinking: I'm concerned, having never had a skimmer through the wall, that the flow of water into the pool near the surface that close to the skimmer would have a negative effect on the skimmer's performance. I have no...

Well, that didn't work out so well/Intex/Hayward conversion

From the very beginning of this new pool project, we've had this Hayward Matrix Power-Flo 50 gpm pump set to replace the original Intex pump. After filling the pool and getting the water balanced with the original pump, not to mention using my old beehive solar heater to do a little heating, I...

Looking for a new skimmer - choices

Having just plumbed and started the new Hayward pump, I get the sense that I need to speed up my quest for a through-the-wall skimmer for my Intex Ultra Frame. I have done some research here and looked for options on eBay. I'm narrowed down the search to four choices, for now...

Need source for cellulose DE substitute

Well, the solar panels are on their way, but the through-the-wall skimmer may have to be put on the front burner! I took the time to connect the Hayward D.E./cellulose fiber filter this morning, and after monkeying around with it for awhile, I've come to the conclusion that the Intex...

Need source for cellulose DE substitute

Actually not a switch at all as I have yet to even use the filter and I've decided to use the cellulose products. After boning up here on the forum about the two (and the AquaPerl) I thought it might be better than D.E. (i.e. less bulky, safer to use/clean up, etc.). Cost-wise, if I can keep...

    1 h.p. timer?

Does anyone know what brand/model/specifications this timer is? I'm hoping that with a 20-amp rating it might also handle a 1-horse pump. http://www.poolsupplies.com/product/equ ... receptacle

    1 h.p. timer?

So, I'm getting ready to install the new Hayward pump soon, running power down the side of the house to the pump location. Since it has no timer of any sort, I thought I should perhaps investigate upgrading my current model, one of those manual 24-hour timers with the small clips that go up and...

Need source for cellulose DE substitute

I found Fiber Clear 3 lb. bag for $14.99+$6.95 S+H at Leisure Living (www.poolsupplies.com). Pretty happy about that. It says to use 4-1/2 super-accurate scoops (actually a plastic drinking cup included ;-)) for 24 sq.ft. D.E. filter. Mine is 25, and with some reports that you need a little...

Best location to install skimmer/Intex Ultra Frame

Bingo. I'm just trying to keep things as uncomplicated as possible, and cluttering up the deck area with a skimmer doesn't fit that description. I'm wondering if anyone has both a TTW skimmer and the PoolSkim. Do they compliment each other or work against one another?
