Thanks! I appreciate your help. So just to clarify, the bond wire should be tied around the coping rebar in at least 4 places around the pool (I'm assuming on each side?) and also on the deck rebar once it's placed?(yes, that's the direction we're going) . . .

Okay, here's a pic. The wire comes out of the side of the shotcrete shell (under the dirt). I found a total of 5 around the pool (could not locate one on the deep end).

Gosh, I didn't get that from Jimmy's post. In fact, it is cantilevered coping, that is, it is overhanging into the pool 1 - 1 1/2" - isn't that considered cantilever coping? OR are you saying it's not cantilever because "true" cantilever does not tie into the bond beam? Sorry for my confusion!

When you say, "in a cantilever deck the rebar sticking up shouldn't be there," does this apply to my cantilever coping as well? Also, is bonding wire the copper wire coming out of the bond...

The Concern: See pics. There is up to 6" of loose (non compacted) dirt comprising the 15 1/2" area where the concrete will be poured. AND there is no rebar in that area. My PB showed me a Pebble Sheen Blue Surf pool today with the same water depths as mine. The blue color was gorgeous in person. No glass beads or abalone added. I can't believe I'm going to be another Blue Smurfer! :LOL:
