I have 2 surface skimmers and one is clogged with acorns/leaves I think. When I close the other 2 lines (one is in bottom drain) a little water spurts into the pump basket. I made a garden hose threaded pvc adaptor to pump it from the skimmer end but no relief. Any suggestions? I don't think...

The valve handle on the top of my sand filter has become more stiff and harder to reposition over the last year or so. Is lubricatrion on the inside of the valve needed or common? What sort of lubricant...plumbers grease, lithium?

I finally got a guy to detect my pool leak today. He claims its the pipe just inside the wall, to a return jet. I am going to repair it myself...he suggests puttin a 1" pipe as far as it will go into the original pipe and sealing a 1.5" reducer & coupling to the jet base with hydraulic cement...
