*Update-Day 3* FC was 15.5 this morning so I got it back up to 16. The Aquabot is only picking up a leaf or two and some white grimy stuff. Should I keep running it? The color is about the same as yesterday, can't see the bottom just yet...

Ok thanks for the encouragement, I am running an Aquabot 24/7 along with the SLAM. Hopefully that'll kick it some.

All my readings are: FC 16.5 CC .5 CYA 40 pH 7.5 FC before bed time was 16.5 and this morning same number. The only thing that changed was the pH from 7.2 to 7.5 from adding baking soda. I am on day 2 of slamming...any suggestions? Add some DE?

How do you know the dates?

For the Atwoods jugs how do you tell the date? it does have BB04/26/17 on it so i would assume best by that date which is one year??

From pool school "Solid stabilizer can take up to a week to fully register on the test, so don't retest your CYA level for a week after adding some." To me this means test for CYA a week after adding stabilizer. I have and am almost up to 20...do I wait another week to test and then go from...

FC didn't drop too much today, which leads me to believe I have CYA... Still sunny and hot but not as hot as it has been. So I am going to test it in the morning, it'll be week. The sock has since been moved to the return and it is almost gone. Probably will be gone in the morning..

Ok thanks pooldv! I started the CYA last Thursday...tested it this morning and it was still <20 with about 25%. I will test for it tomorrow and see where it is...and then add more?

That could be my problem then, I thought I did read to put it in the skimmer...however, the sock was too big so I just hung it off the side next to the skimmer...

My initial reading of 20 was actually <20, but being a newbie I put 20 instead of 0 or <20. I got the FC up last night and checked it this morning and it is still up there...I've also been working the sock. There's about 25% left, I will go buy some more stabilizer to add as I am sure I will...

Well I am at the 20 mark of the CYA view tube and I can see the dot..it is a little cloudy! So the sock method was too slow. I was about to squeeze the sock down to about 1/3... Should I get FC back up to target and see if CYA comes up the next couple of days?

That's what I am thinking, nothing but feeding the sun. My initial CYA was 20 so I added the recommended 4 lbs 3 oz of stabilizer on Thursday the 6th... the sock appears to have dissolved about half way...I can test it as see where we are...hold please.

Thanks Layla, good to know. I've been pulling samples directly across the jet across the pool. I'll start pulling before the skimmer 2 feet now. Pooldv you are correct, I forgot to update my signature. I've been inputting 25k in poolmath...the depth is abt 45-46"...I'll re-measure this evening...

The filter/skimmer has been running this whole time. It is circulating 24/7. I test elbow deep.

This morning tests: FC 10 CC .5 PH 7.6 I used pool math last night to get my FC from a 1 to 6...got a 10 this morning...leads me to believe my reading of 1 was false...is this possible?
