Spa pump advice, motor is out

You might as well do the shaft seal and O-ring (and wear ring if it has one) while you have it apart. Might be able to get the motor rewound? Probably just shorted coils.

Pump lost prime or other problem?

The problem ended up being the flap in the jet selector check valve had broken off and lodged itself in the throat of the housing. Blocked flow and prevented pump from priming. Thanks anyway!

Pump lost prime or other problem?

So I pulled the pump apart today and noticed there is no wear ring between the impeller and housing end. I don't ever remeber seeing one in there. Don't know of exact pump model so can't be certain but based on many diagrams i've found, they all include one. Would missing this cause total pump...

Pump lost prime or other problem?

Hi guys, I'm having trouble priming (I think) the main pump in a sundance montego. The pump had a slight hum to it so I pulled it out thinking the impellor might have been bound up. Everything looked to be in good nick, spun freely, and I decided the noise was coming from either the fan or...

Motor hums, but will start if I give it a helping turn turn... need help please.

I just got done replacing the seal in a waterway executive 56, we had the same problem where it would power on, hum, blow the fuse in the control board and that was the end of it. The impeller was almost impossible to turn by hand, but the motor shaft with no pump spun freely, so we replaced the...

Initial treatment after filling from lake

Actually it's not my spa I'm staying with my partner and her parents at the moment and they just got it and had decided they wanted to use Bromine. I'm happy enough with it anyway, hasn't been a single day where it smelled chemically yet. Our chlorinated spa at home has the odd bad day.

    Emptying spa in the pool

What if the hot tub were chlorine? Whenever we changed our hot tubs water it was because it was getting 'greasy' or too hard to keep clean, I assume from the build up of body oils and contaminants etc... I guess the question is, if you're water is bad enough that you need to change it, why would...

No Bubbles in hot tub when air blower is on

I assume he attached the leaf blower to where the blower output connects and it had no bubbles so the lines might be blocked. I don't know much about them but there must be some kind of check valve in the system to stop water coming back into the blower while it's off. Could that be jammed shut?

Initial treatment after filling from lake

So I got the water pretty clear actually, much to my surprise. Plenty of pumping and constant filter cleaning like you suggested. I still haven't picked up sodium bromide as it is going to get drained and relocated after this weekend again, I just used crushed tablets for now. After all the...

Initial treatment after filling from lake

Ok. I understand all of that thanks a bunch for your effort. And, total bromine must be less than 10ppm for safe bathing, what about bromide ions, is there a level they should be under for safe bathing? This is not measurable anyway is that correct? Thanks again, Josh

Initial treatment after filling from lake

No well here I'm afraid. I haven't got a test kit yet, I have the strips but I will see what is available at the local pool store. So bromine tablets are not sodium bromide right? (i.e. I can't just crush them?) I need granulated sodium bromide and enough to keep it up at 10ppm? How long would...

Initial treatment after filling from lake

Hi everyone, New to the forum here, have recently purchased a second-hand 7x7' coast spas hot tub and hoped to pick some brains :D As the title says... It is installed at the cottage which has the lake as its only water source. After filling, it is a very light shade of green and slightly...
