Potential New Pool Owner - Questions Before Starting To Get Quotes

Thank you... the steps are built into the pool (shotcrete, plaster). Yes, I like the two tiered, otherwise it's a very large step to get out of the water. The bench is about 14" water depth, plus the coping, tile, so it would be a 20" step out of the pool without it.

Potential New Pool Owner - Questions Before Starting To Get Quotes

Your pool is pretty much what we build about 2 years ago... we love the shape and design. We do have a swim out bench in the deep end -

New Build - Las Vegas NV - Owner/Builder

You are correct, the cement is white without any stains or dyes, and the aggregate is mostly white/clean with very little dark blue and black mixed in. I appreciate your input. The pool looks better every month as the cream goes away. It doesn't look bad, it just doesn't look fantastic. But...

New Build - Las Vegas NV - Owner/Builder

All is going well with the pool! After some help form @JoyfulNoise to help get rid of some scale, I have a question for @onBalance or anyone else that can help regarding my plaster. Now that the pool as been filled for two years, it seems a lot of cream remains on the surface of the plaster...

Light brown/tan build up on 1yr old plaster pool

Hello TFP, this is my first post over in this section. Sorry if this post goes in a few different directions, but I'm trying to diagnose an issue here. One year ago this month, we filled our newly built plaster pool. This is our second plaster pool, so I'm somewhat familiar with pool upkeep...

Glad the gunite went well! It looks like they did a nice job! @AQUA~HOLICS @ajw22 @Newdude all helped tremendously on my build as well. As a side note, I really appreciate your formatting and grammar. It makes it so much easier to read through a thread when everything is neat and organized!

New DIY pool build - NW Austin, TX (filled!)

No worries.... As I sit out by my pool as I type this, I honestly can't imagine having the deep end off the swim deck. Perhaps if the goal is so people can comfortably stand next to the spa, you could put in a shelf to stand on or a bench to sit on along it. That of course doesn't solve your...

New DIY pool build - NW Austin, TX (filled!)

Looks nice! Something to think about.... It seems backwards to me to have the deep end off the tanning ledge. We spend most of our time either on the tanning ledge or in the shallow end. I feel like its really nice to go back and forth easily. I can't imagine having to swim over to the...

    Any Advice Before Install

Just and FYI - I bought and installed 4 of those CMP deck jets you posted. ALL four of them leaked at the ball/swivel connection. Its a cheap plastic on plastic joint. Its not a large leak, but about 1 drop out of the bottom of the unit every 10 seconds, which was enough to bother me. The...

Newb OB with BYOP in Buckeye AZ - Completion and wrap up

That's some great info! I've been curious about this as well as I just filled my new build in Las Vegas about two months ago. One of my neighbors uses a small undersink RO system to refill his pool. He uses the waste line to water plants. I was interested in the RO system as well, but his...

New Build - Las Vegas NV - Owner/Builder

Small updates - We added salt and I installed the SWG after 5 weeks. Everything is working great so far and we're extremely happy with the pool. We had some artificial turf installed around it last weekend. Next - Outdoor kitchen,, fire feature, and more landscaping! At least we have...

    Costco salt - Culligan brand

Hi all, I've read numerous threads on salt brands and have figured out it really doesn't matter as long as it's pure. I saw this Culligan salt at Costco. It's pretty inexpensive. It does have something called Sofner-Guard. I didn't see any info on Culligan website and there is non on the bag...
