    Pentair vs Hayward?

We just finished a build late last year. One thing I would recommend is going to view other pools the builders have done. Especially if they have different finishes. You may like the "bumpy" nature of pebble, but the various types of pebbles (large/small/smoothed/glass) can make a difference...

First Review - Dupont Stone-Tech Saltwater Resistant Sealer

Another question... does the water still bead up after 6+ months? Our PB used a home depot product which seemed to bead up for all of a week and then stopped. Wasn't sure if the product was still working or if lack of beading was normal.

    Pool Draining Question

This is an old picture from construction. My backwash hose only reaches the sidewalk cleanout with a foot or two to spare, which when pumping tends to lift out of the pipe (even on 800 rpm or so). The nearer pipe would be a bit more convenient so it's good to know I could use either if the need...

    Pool Draining Question

We drained a couple of inches of water in advance of the storms this week. I ran a hose to the cleanout in the front yard near the sidewalk (City says to drain to sanitary sewer). I noticed there is another cleanout just a few feet away from the foundation also in the front yard. I'm assuming...

    New To Process

Thanks all. I tested again this morning and it's still at FC 10. At this point I'm going to assume it was just stronger than normal bleach. Will keep an eye on future bottles. I lowered PH to 7.0 and am aerating to lower TA.

    New To Process

Retested several times from different parts of the pool. Got readings of 12 and even 13 in some spots. The chlorinator still had pucks in it but was turned off... just in case I removed pucks. We were also filling from hose, but I tested that water and got zero FC. It's certainly possible it was...

    New To Process

Ok, it was 8.25% bleach from Sam's that we bought today. Poolmath says 111oz, and I added the whole jug of 121oz, which should have added 5.3 FC, but it went up 8. The pool is around 16k gallons... it may be 15 or it may be 17, but according to poolmath it would have to be only 10k gallons...

    New To Process

Hi all, been reading tons of posts for months while we had our pool built. Thanks so much for all of the great information here! We started with the Rainbow chlorinator, but now that CYA is around 45 it sounded like a good time to turn off the rainbow and go full BBB. (That and I didn't want to...
