I am a newbie at pools just having bought a house with a pool. My pH was at 8.4 and I just added 1/2 gallon of 20 Baume muriatic acid to pool to lower pH. Strangely, my pump just perked up and is working much better. Any ideas? I thought perhaps my filter just got toasted and the resistance...
