    What sealant to use.

I don’t mean to hijack your thread, but is caulking pool returns like that common or standard? My repair guy is proposing caulk as solution to a leak I have around the return and I am just wondering if this is a band aid solution to a bigger problem that needs to be fixed?

    eyeball leaking after opening pool

Just for clarification, My terminology might not be correct. What was spinning while trying to unscrew the winter plug was the flat piece that directly contacts the pool wall.

    eyeball leaking after opening pool

I opened my pool yesterday and had a hard time getting one of the winter plugs out of the eyeball fitting. The eyeball collar was turning with the plug when trying to remove the plug. I finally got the plug out and tightened down the collar as best I could and inserted the eyeball. I now have...

Thinking of Opening Myself for the First Time…

She’s a little dirty, but we can fix that. I’m pretty proud of myself (and my husband and I are still married 😂). Thanks for all the help!

Thinking of Opening Myself for the First Time…

We have had our pool for over 10 years (been using TFP method for maintenance for over 8 years) and have always had pool company open and close our pool (live in Missouri). This year our pool company tells me they can’t get us on the calendar for opening until JUNE! I’m thinking of trying to...

    CYA disappearing?

Thanks for that info, I actually did not know that. I thought CYA was only lost through water loss. However, my water temps have not been above 80 degrees F since I opened the pool. In 5 years of doing the TFP method, I have never lost CYA at this rate, that's why I am so baffled....

    CYA disappearing?

I can't figure out why my CYA level won't stay up. I live in St. Louis, Missouri, SWG, fiberglass pool, about 4000gal. I opened my pool in late April with no problem. Slammed for three or four days upon opening and passed slam, took CYA up to 60. All was well for several weeks, then about 2...

Polaris 380 - Quick Disconnect stuck to Universal Wall Fitting

Mine has done this too. Have no advice how to get it out other than just keep trying, I’m assuming you know to push and turn at the same time to remove the hose ?. The advice I DO have is once you get it out if you lube the black o ring (on the cleaner hose attachment) with silicone o ring...

    Trouble with Polaris hose

I agree with the "give it a good twist". This same thing happens to my Polaris from time to time. It is best to try fixing it with it running so you can see when the gushing subsides. It seems mine always has a slight trickle of water coming from that area, which, according to Polaris, is not...

Hi, I am new to the TFP method, I had been just letting my husband manage the pool chemistry (with the help of the pool store) for the past 2 years, but this year we had to do a full water drain and refill (from county water) due to a leak, so I decided to investigate what needed to be done to...
