Intex owners: did you leave yours up over the winter?

Forgot to add that we bought a siphon for the cover so we wouldn't have to plug in during the winter.. I'm at work but I'll try to post a picture of it tonight. Intex owners: did you leave yours up over the winter?

There is a whole thread on intex owners that left their pool overwinter and what they did. I contributed..I live in mid Virginia and we see temps as low as 2° for short periods and consistent temps below freezing during the winter. Mine has been up for 3 Winters now with no issues. Some people...

What did you do to your pool today?

Skimmed vacuumed after yesterday's storms (we swam right up to the first drops!) And got in to cool off while skimming the rest. Cut short when the kiddo got some water inhaled and gagged.. A little puke in the pool and out we all go. Now I'm shocking it... But it was a good weekend of swimming...

Intex owners: did you leave yours up over the winter?

We get below freezing. Same as frankow with pulling equipment. I plug the outlet/inlets/skimmer. Leave a sanitizing floater in and cover for the winter with a pillow in the center. The rule in our house is once the temp goes freezing, no one touches the pool. I keep an eye for damage through...

Intex owners: did you leave yours up over the winter?

SWG creates a chemical reaction that sanitizes the water like chlorine so I wouldn't see there being a difference. If anything, heavy salt water is less likely to freeze. I found a hole in my Intex every yr we took it down as well no matter how careful we were. I leave my 18' up winterized now...

What did you do to your pool today?

Watched it rain some more but managed to back wash and added a sock of stabilizer granules to try and get that up. I'm burning through chlorine so.. Not sure if it's BC cya so low or its eating something.

What did you do to your pool today?

Watched it rain some more.. Haven't had the heart to go check the temp.. So much for swimming by memorial day. But the summer hadn't really started and the bug annual BBQ is still 3 weeks away... Plenty of time to get warm

What did you do to your pool today?

Def jealous, mine is 70° with the solar cover! Trying to increase pH and chlorine today. Cya 0 so letting some pucks float.. Fingers crossed it warms up some this week or its funny to be a non floating memorial day, le sigh..

What did you do to your pool today?

Vacuumed backwashed filtered backwashed-got smarter and put a stocking on the skimmer.. Much easier to hose a skimmer off ;) (and my yard was becoming a little mushy) it's looking much better so I think the solar cover might be going on this week with high hopes of swimming next weekend!

Pulled the cover off early.. Too warm too long. Now it's filled with pollen-ick. Going to get the pump hooked up after I get to the store for bleach and filter sand. Should hopefully have it up and circulating by the weekend :) we can't wait! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    Over-wintering Intex Pools experiences/advice

Noon, the pillow is to take the pressure from ice that forms of the walls. The pillow should only be filled enough that you can step on it and touch the ground and the pillow is then taught. As the ice forms it squeezes the pillow. Moving inwards. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    Over-wintering Intex Pools experiences/advice

I winterized just as you would a normal above ground pool which is meant to keep the pressure of the walls. Done correctly, we had a lot of snow and ice with a cover with no damage whatsoever. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    Over-wintering Intex Pools experiences/advice

this was our first winter leaving our 18' intex up and winterized. Got the middle of the road cover, winterized the water and dropped it down below the intakes. Removed all the equipment to inside. Cover is attached with the cord and milk jugs. Yes, there is a pillow in the middle and the pool...

Intex owners: did you leave yours up over the winter?

I just used typical winterizing procedures for an above ground pool. Drained it below returns and covered it. All pumps and equipment inside. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Intex ultra-frame owner-looking for auto vacuum

FYI, bought a used zodiac ranger. I can adjust the flow on the second line I have so that the ranger works well. Biggest problem is I cant keep air from getting to the pump but enough water is flowing that everything is still working ok. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
