    PH level before the SLAM

Yes... A 30' round. Before switching to the TFP method i was really regretting buying that size since some smaller ones were on craigslist. And pool store chemicals are SO expensive. But we're the same price or more expensive. ($500 was a bargain for the pool and pump and filter but I had to...

    PH level before the SLAM

Well time to update my woahs from last years over chlorination debacle. I knew I was going to replace the liner so I didn't worry with covering the pool but I guess I should have to have prevented the swamp! Literally had frogs and algae blooms like lily pads ha. It was a time getting it...

    2016 bleach prices

Just left my local Walmart (by my work) and they have just stocked the shelves with 10% pool chlorine for $2.50 a gallon! Had room for 12 jugs in my cart I'll go back later and pick up don't more before its all gone. Plus it was bottled on may 5th!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2-3 week slam and still cloudy. Ideas?

It was not sand that was clouding up my pool but was allowing the finer particles to not stay in the filter due to the broken laterals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2-3 week slam and still cloudy. Ideas?

Hello. I had similar issues too when I was slamming early on. I had two broken laterals. Put in a new assembly and pool cleared up in a day. Got crystal in less than a week. Still going now. When you back wash do you hear rattling? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Can't stop the algae

You're not completing a SLAM if you still have algae present. With your CYA shock level is 20 not 8-10. 20 needs to be maintained and pump running until you have <.5 CC and crystal clear water and passing OCLT. So if you haven't been maintaining a FC of 20 you are just pinning wheels because...

    pH minus vs muriatic acid!

Seems like I need to be more cautious using MA.... I just keep my head away and hold the bottle right above the surface. Once I finishing pouring I put the cap on and dunk it a couple times in the pool to get any excess off. No goggles ... Might need to start Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    Circulation Problems?

Even with my new 2 speed pumps on low I cannot stop the flow. Seems like you have weak pressure might need to clean filter and see if that helps first. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    My SLAM

the stenner pump you have to manually start and stop while the liquidator runs while pump runs l right? Trying to figure out which way to go for next season. It is a good feeling to know what to do IF the need arises. Thanks for sharing. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    Broken Lateral?

Yeah def get the right one. The local pool store I got mine from (price was cheaper to buy from there actually) has there laterals labeled for their parts. I needed an e series 200# sand filter lateral assembly. They carry pro series Hayward parts. So the assembly was like 9-10" taller than I...

    Broken Lateral?

I had to replace my lateral assembly this year too since my pool was not clearing up during the SLAM process. Once i changed it, pool cleared up in a few days...went crystal within a week after adding the DE after replacing the assembly. The assembly does not get glued down its free standing...

Need help removing dead algae from an above ground pool

One bag of shock here and there won't work to get rid of a bad bloom. You need to constantly attack it with liquid chlorine/bleach. Based on your CYA level which is tested with recommended test kits. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

    AGP Light options

Depends on usage. I've probably ran them for about 2-3 hours so far. No sign of them getting dim yet. Maybe 8-10. Rechargeable would be a good idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    PH level before the SLAM

Welp....things were going too smoothly ha. My pump went out yesterday morning before we were leaving to go to the beach. It was the original pump that came with the pool. Approx. 8-10 years old. Had 3 years use of it. It was a 1/5 single speed that I run 24/7. Not very energy efficient haha...

SwampClean 2015 - opening the pool!

I agree with the clarity being subjective. What I thought was clear when I stopped my SLAM ended up getting clearer a few days after when I had my pH balanced. These are all guidelines and you're not obligated to follow anything even though it's good to follow the guidance ?. It's you're pool...

SwampClean 2015 - opening the pool!

I'd hold off on the clarifier since you already have stuff settled to the bottom and you are using a cartridge filter. go ahead and vacuum that stuff up...SLOWly so you don't stir it up and have to wait for it to settle again. I used clarifier since I have a sand filter and it was catching...

    Turning Green Water to Blue

I think with CYA you will have to drain if it gets too high. When's the last time you used tablets. I believe CYA takes a week to register when being added via powered form. No expert though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
