You're not completing a SLAM if you still have algae present. With your CYA shock level is 20 not 8-10. 20 needs to be maintained and pump running until you have <.5 CC and crystal clear water and passing OCLT. So if you haven't been maintaining a FC of 20 you are just pinning wheels because...

I had to replace my lateral assembly this year too since my pool was not clearing up during the SLAM process. Once i changed it, pool cleared up in a few days...went crystal within a week after adding the DE after replacing the assembly. The assembly does not get glued down its free standing...

Welp....things were going too smoothly ha. My pump went out yesterday morning before we were leaving to go to the beach. It was the original pump that came with the pool. Approx. 8-10 years old. Had 3 years use of it. It was a 1/5 single speed that I run 24/7. Not very energy efficient haha...

I agree with the clarity being subjective. What I thought was clear when I stopped my SLAM ended up getting clearer a few days after when I had my pH balanced. These are all guidelines and you're not obligated to follow anything even though it's good to follow the guidance ?. It's you're pool...

I'd hold off on the clarifier since you already have stuff settled to the bottom and you are using a cartridge filter. go ahead and vacuum that stuff up...SLOWly so you don't stir it up and have to wait for it to settle again. I used clarifier since I have a sand filter and it was catching...

I think with CYA you will have to drain if it gets too high. When's the last time you used tablets. I believe CYA takes a week to register when being added via powered form. No expert though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
