The best thing to do is to follow the SLAM Process using liquid chlorine as the sanitizer. Once you complete that, then you can add stabilizer and salt as needed and resume operating your SWCG.

Welcome to TFP! First guess would be iron staining. High chlorine levels can oxidize iron in the water and result in it depositing on pool surfaces. Rubbing with a vitamin C tablet will lighten an iron stain pretty quickly.

Wild guess, but maybe the water level got high enough the main drain pressure caused a siphon to start to the equipment pad and water flowed out until it equalized. Is your drain open to the pad during the winter?
