I did another dye test on the skimmer with no luck. I am adding some more water to pool, about 1” and will try dye test again. I did remove plug from skimmer and the pipe was full of water.

Thanks Jim , there is enough water to go into skimmer but not enough to turn skimmer on. It’s plugged and gate valve to skimmer is off . I guess you would say water level is at 1/2”-1” above skimmer faceplate(opening) and allows a little water to enter. Only water loss now seems to be through...

Water level fell back to bottom of skimmer. Level inside skimmer is 2-3” above top of skimmer basket. I’m not ready to bring in pool company yet. Any more suggestions ? I really cannot figure it out. There are no seams or anything at the current water level.

Skimmer still turned off and plugged return line. Water level is back down to bottom of skimmer. I have no idea what the next step for me to take. I will be closing pool in 2-3 weeks.

Just one pipe plus one other plug. Water level is still at point when I installed the plug. Btw, I did shut off ball valve to skimmer and turned the pump on.

Concrete around skimmer, no cracks. I put a plug in the skimmer line a couple of hours ago to see where water level drops. I had no luck with dye test.

The water level is above the plugs. I dye tested at plugs with no results. Willing to try it though

I removed weir door, dye tested and found nothing. I dye tested around face plate and any seams at skimmer, still nothing. I dye tested around pool at wall seams and found nothing. Pool leaks down to bottom of skimmer and stays there. Any suggestions?

I guess my next step is too remove the weir door and look for a crack. Not sure after that

First, I let the pool leak down to lowest point. I filled pool up to normal. I did a dye test on skimmer and that was only place to draw in the dye.

My inground pool is leaking water at hinge point on weir door. I assume that their is a crack or hole on the back or unseen side of the wall that the hinge point is attached . What suggestions do you have for repair or do I need to replace entire skimmer?

Added lq to bring to shock level of 16 last night. Tested level this morning and had fc of 12. Added 88 oz of 10% bleach, waited 45 mins and tested, FC is at 16 ppm, 0 cc. I do have swimmers coming today! Any precautions suggested? Thank you

Pool is clear, ph dropped to 7.2 from 7.6, ta 90 cya is 40 , put in 16 ppm chlorine to 1.5 already in last night to shock pool. and added 45 lbs of calcium chloride to increase ch. what has caused the fc to drop to 0 and ph to drop to 7.2? I did have several swimmers today! Going to add 2.75...

I need to add about 42 lbs. of calcium hardness increaser. How much should I add and at what intervals? How long do I need to run my pump after adding? Thanks in advance!

Pool numbers are usually like this except Ph which is usually 7.2 to 7.5. FC 4.5 CC 0 Ph 7.8 CH 250 CYA 40 Temp. 86 Water is crystal clear. Only gets cloudy with heavy use over a couple hrs. Probably SunScreen. I'd like to keep it clear during swim party. I believe raising the chlorine level...

I remember from last swim party that the water was getting cloudy. I would think that the sunscreen that was used is the cause. What can I do before the party to prevent the cloudiness? Thanks!

I have two return outlets in my pool. One is leaking, it has been patched before. My question is , Can I plug the return off and just have the other to circulate the water. It is an old pool with old pvc lines. Pool company has been here twice and it still leaks. A pressure test showed no leaks...

Does anyone use clarifier in their pool? What kind, brand,etc? Is it recommended?
