Looking for advice, salt cell cracked, and multiple erosion spots 24 month post build

Hi everyone, I haven't been on much since I posted our pool build July 2015. I had the worst pool builder experience ever, and have since been to court with them. Well - we just had our new pool company open the pool and we have a few issues again. 1. There is rusting on both the railing and...

Coverlon with install and winterization or Loop Loc without?

I had the dealer from Loop Loc come out, and he will give me the cover for our lagoon style pool with jump rock and waterfall for $4500. The only downside is that he will not close the pool which is included with all other quotes. So that makes the cost $4800 in my eyes. Our PB will give us...

New build - vinyl coming off in two areas after fill

Again thank God for this forum because my PB never replies to concerns! In our low end there are two areas that the vinyl comes off. They said previously it was because water wasn't in all the way but now pool is completely filled. Should we stop swimming until PB comes out tomorrow - can...

Vermaculite install with rain in the forecast....Need opinions ASAP

Good morning everyone. My PB called this morning and informed me that today they plan to lay the vermiculite down for the pool. I asked why they are doing it now, since the liner has not come in yet, and they do not expect it to come in for at least a week. I've read that it is risky to lay...

Weird question - deep end walls..

Obviously I should have thought of this question before I started my build. But why do concrete or gunite deep end walls go straight down and vinyl walls are sloped inwards losing square footage?

Update - Water In - Final pieces remain South Jersey Build

We are starting this week on our new build! We originally interviewed pool companies for both gunite and vinyl. I loved the flexibility of the gunite but overall, the pricing was almost exactly the same, and I don't like the feel of the gunite on my feet, so we went with the vinyl. I know...
