    Pump and Plumbing Diagnostics

Final update: I used a plumbing snake and the drain king and after a few tries was able to free up whatever was causing the problem. The pump is running better than it has since we have moved into this house. Thank you all for the help.

    Pump and Plumbing Diagnostics

Update: I put the drain king on the pump side blowing back to the pool. A couple of quick bubbles and then nothing. I could not feel any flow. I followed something from another thread on here and plugged the skimmer for 10-15 seconds and got a few leaves out of the line. I kept repeating this...

    Pump and Plumbing Diagnostics

I have not tried that. I will work on getting that done in the next day or two. How long should I leave the drain king in?

    Pump and Plumbing Diagnostics

I have replaced the plumbing shown in the attached picture. Nothing changed with the flow from the pump. Where else could I check for an air leak? I have replaced the filter lid o-ring and made sure it was lubed. Also as stated earlier I ran water over the lid with the pump running with no...

    Pump and Plumbing Diagnostics

Some things to add here. I recently bought a new multiport valve because the old body had cracks all over it. I found that one lateral was cracked and there was barely enough sand in my filter to cover the laterals. The multiport valve is the only valve that is in my plumbing. There is no...

    Pump and Plumbing Diagnostics

My pump suddenly stopping pumping over night. The pump will not prime. Since then I have rebuilt the pump with a go kit which did not help. Problem: 1. Occasional air bubbles coming out of returns. Overnight this because no flow out of returns. 2. If I put my hand in the skimmer all the way...

    New Pool need help

Update: I got the go kit and rebuilt the pump. Made sure everything was clean and all the o-rings are lubed. I replaced a portion of the suction line from the pump through the second 90 (The 90 that is buried underground where it turns up to go to the pump). I used a shop vac to blow the...

    New Pool need help

Thanks for all fo the suggestion. I'll try to answer all of the questions. Right now there is plenty of water in the pool. There is no flapper door on the skimmer and it does not look like a tornado in there. The sand level in the photos is what was in there when the MP was replaced. I...

    New Pool need help

Checked the pump flow without the filter connected. Still not a lot of flow. See photo below. I cleaned out the sand filter and need to know how to identify which model of filter it is. I am pretty sure the diameter is 24" with the MP in the top. The MP is a Hayward. The laterals screw in and...

    New Pool need help

I replaced the multiport because the old one had multiple cracks and was leaking all over the place. I cannot find a model or part number on the filter or the pump. I assume it is a Hayward filter. I'll get a measurement on it tonight. The multiport valve is the same model that I removed from...

    New Pool need help

The pictures of the stand pipe are shown below. A couple of things that i noticed. 1. There are barely any sand in the filter. This is shown in the pic. The lateral is just about even with the sand. 2. I took the drain cap off and nothing drained out of the filter. I tired to poke a stick...

    New Pool need help

Sorry for jumping around so much. Two days ago I could see the water flowing into the skimmer and if I put my hand down there I could feel the suction. As of yesterday that all stopped. I cannot see or feel and flow to the skimmer. This is a pic of the flow when I backwash. It used to be much...

    New Pool need help

So I looked around a little more yesterday. The suction and return lines run under some banana plants. I dug them up and got them out of the way of the lines thinking they may be causing a leak. With that portion of the lines exposed I ran the pump but do not see any signed of a leak here. It is...

    New Pool need help

The piece of pipe that is in the multiport fits inside the piece that is in the laterals. One is maybe an 1.5" and one is 1.25"

    New Pool need help

Thanks. I will try to backwash again. The gauge has not read above 0 except for " wooshes". It is a brand new gauge and multiport. When i changed the multiport valve i notice the stand pipe is two pieces. One fits inside the other and they over lap a touch. Could this be causing problems? I was...

    New Pool need help

I recently bought a new house with a pool. When I bought the house the water was crystal clear. We owned the house for two months before moving in due to a bit on remodeling. During that time we notice the water level dropping more than expected. We noticed a few area where it was leaking but...
