Opinion on this IG pool quote in San Francisco Bay Area

That's a few K over our bid, but our pool was 16x32, same depths. Our spa was 7x7' above ground and we had 2,000 sf of salt finish decking.

Choosing a Pool Builder in CA

Where are you in Northern California? As a custom home builder, I've worked with quite a few pool contractors in the area.

    Advice on pool deck furniture....

No, I tried to get the pool builder to rep their product, but they weren't interested.

    Advice on pool deck furniture....

After biting the bullet on the ledge loungers for our shelf, I decided to make 4 chaise lounges. $100 in materials for each. My last wood shop was in third grade but I can follow insturctions. Design was at Ana White. I stained them a dark walnut.

    Picking Stonescape pool color

We have the stonescapes midnight blue and we love it. Everyone that comes over compliments the color. As you can see in the picture, the baja shelf show up much lighter due to the shallow water.

    Scuba!

I got my certification in preparation for my honeymoon (wife was already certified) Did the classes at a shop that had a pool and my checkout dives were at the Channel Islands. Most of our away vacations are in warm places centered around diving every other year or so. One of the reasons we...

Replaster recommendation - San Francisco Bay Area

Hey Dave, sorry I had my notifications turned off. Looks like you're off to a good start. You are going to love the Pebble Sheen. I did not have a lot of interaction with Aqua Gunite as they were a sub to my general, but I did meet the owner and he was a great guy. No problems at all with...

What would you go back and put in if you had more money?

We put off the installation of our Trellis to include the following in the original build: SWG Mini Pebble Umbrella sleeves: 2 in bench, 5 around the deck. Use these a lot and much more convenient and inexpensive than weighted umbrella holders. Irridescent glass tile in the spillover All...

Spa - raised or in pool with kids

We also used that pic for inspiration but due to our flat lot we wanted to add some elevation with an 18" raised spa. Makes the autocover easier to manage, and allowed for a larger bench. Besides my wife wanted the extra benefit of a water feature we can run with the cover on for sound.

Replaster recommendation - San Francisco Bay Area

New pool, so they installed the gunite and the Stonescapes Mini Pebble. I don't have those costs broken out separately, as it was lumped in with the cost of the whole project. ( they were a subcontractor to my pool builder)

Replaster recommendation - San Francisco Bay Area

Aqua Gunite out of Livermore recently did my pool. You can also try California's gunite. I've used them on other projects.

    Depth of Spa

Depth above the seat is perfect around 22". We have 5 jets, and I had him put them all at different heights from low back to just below shoulders since it will mainly be used by both of us. I went to the gym yesterday and their outdoor spa I could barely touch the floor with the balls of my...

    Depth of Spa

My PB just finished gunite of our 7'x7' square in-ground spa. When I sit in it, my feet dangle by 6-8". Is the spa too deep? I'm 6' tall so it will be worse for people with shorter legs. We can easily pour concrete in the bottom when they pour the decking to raise it up if recommended. Thanks
