Unable to sign into Pool Math

Guessing its a certificate issue. I get this on their API: https://api.poolmathapp.com/ failed with [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: certificate has expired All good. Hopefully they fix it soon.

    Yet another borates question

Thanks. I wasn't clear what the actual factor was in decreasing TA. THe acid addition or the aeration/natural climb. Got it. Thanks.

    Yet another borates question

To expedite the TA decreases, can I add acid to drop the TA *and* add baking soda at the same time? I understand Soda will neutralize the Acid and raise the pH again (which is the goal) but is that actually counter productive? Do I need to only aearate to bring that pH up in order to lower the TA?

    Yet another borates question

It may be just the plaster cure. I'll need to wait to worry about this and deal with it. I'll try re-dropping TA again to 50-60. It will just rise again with fill water but I really need to get away from the 'every 2-3 day add of Muratic'. I can't sustain that schedule. I'll just try to...

    Yet another borates question

Hello. My latest test results are in my signature. My fill water has a TA of 70 and pH of 7.8. I'm currently having to add acid every 3 days to bring my pH down to 7.6 from a rise to 8. That seems excessive to me. I've attempted to add borates to help control this. My question specifically...

    Pool Math API

I'm sure it was. The existing pentair home assistant integration was reversed using the web. The calls via the web based exactly matched the screenlogic device so it was relatively easy. You would think so. But I think people like you and I are a minority.

It certainly would be nice to have a $50 unit replace it. These people created similar I believe: http://www.store.controlworks.com/Modules/Product.aspx?pid=3118

    Pool Math API

BTW, if you don't want to delve into Home Assistant and want to write your own, this would work: https://github.com/parnic/node-screenlogic Frankly though, The easyness of Home Assistant to make VERY complex automations and dashboards is better than writing it your own. But you can...

    Pool Math API

I use a raspberry pi running Home Assistant OS. Its so cheap. $100 and done. If you do this though, i'd highly recommend you move to a USB device that is actually solid state rather than a cheap flash module repackaged into USB. SD Cards fail way too often. Something like this: Drive...

    Pool Math API

I don't mind. Home Assistant has two integration options. I'm using the inbuilt one that became available last year I believe: https://github.com/home-assistant/core/tree/dev/homeassistant/components/screenlogic Yes i can extract all of that. The sensors they created are decent and have...

    Pool Math API

I'd be happy if it were throttled updates. I don't need it often but it would be helpful to be able to push programmatic collected metrics up to poolmath so all my pool data is one place.

    Pool Math API

Hello All. If there is a better portion of the forum for this, please move this? I have an integration with Home Assistant and Pool Math via its API. I currently have a SWG and pentair integration also within Home Assistant. My question is, is there an API I can use to actually UPDATE pool...

Moving to borates, concerns around LSI/CSI

We only lived a couple miles away. Same City water and same average rainfalls. So roughly the same as it is now. From memory, my Pool TA typically stayed around the 90-100 TA (probably the fill water) but when I added the borates, I had it around 80 initially till I gave up lowering it every...

Moving to borates, concerns around LSI/CSI

I think that makes sense. I know in my last pool Borates made all the difference but I started that 2 years after being built. It was one of those 'ah ha' moments when I added them. I think I'll wait for a while.

No. I manual fill and hope for rain water mostly.

Moving to borates, concerns around LSI/CSI

PH Rise is definitely a problem. But since its new plaster (middle december) I'm sure that is a very large contributor. My fill water is 100 TA and 8.0 PH I think I should expect TA to keep dropping based on the fill, water features, kids. I wonder if I should just wait for Borates till...

Moving to borates, concerns around LSI/CSI

@Rancho Cost-a-Lotta Yeah I was actually looking at that last night. Thanks for that. I was going to ask today if there was a reason to push TA down as far as I had since a little higher seems to compensate for typical recommended levels vs corrosion. I think that's the direction I'm going...

I did look at the warmer water but even then I'm borderline corrosive.

So this is my second pool. It was completed back in middle December. Size: 11k Location: Florida SWG Pebble surface Water Temp: 60 (would be much higher in warmer months or when we heat the pool in spring) FC: 4.5 PH: 7.6 TA: 90 CH: 310 CYA: 90 Salt: 3450 Borates: 0 (for now) My Calculations...

    Replacement motor for Hayward SP32152EE

Its a prologic with revision 4.30 How do these equate though to the one I have which is a 1.5HP ( 2.4 THP ). I essentially just need the power I have now plus a little more (and less) would be nice. Edit: I just saw your comment about the ones to get given my current flow. Thanks for that.

    Replacement motor for Hayward SP32152EE

I may just go with the variable speed 3202. I am correct that this model is the correct replacement for 'SP32152EE' ? I believe this will just drop in but am a little confused about the HP and flow as compared to my dual speed I have now. On the wiring side, If I have a gold-line...

    Replacement motor for Hayward SP32152EE

Thanks for the reply. Its hard to justify the variable speed pumps. The SP3202VSP model, which is what I think I would need given the pump I have?, is around $1000 where the SP32152EE which is the dual speed that I have is around $700. The variable would be a nice to have but $300 more is...

    Replacement motor for Hayward SP32152EE

I need to replace the motor on a failed Hayward SP32152EE. The pool guys are pushing my to use B983 model which looks to be a slightly smaller motor than what comes standard on this pump. I'm concerned that this motor will be ridden harder than the stock one was with the undersize and will...

    GVA-24 Parts

I've done a little research here but frankly finding a gear to fit would be an exercise in futility. There are too many measurements and too many types of gears. I'll likely just try to find a used actuator with a burned out motor that I can swap the gears on unless someone comes forward with...

    GVA-24 Parts

True John. Also, I've found that Hayward did once sell these. Evidenced by this link: http://products.1800pools.com/hayward_actuator_psa24_replacement_parts_gear_set_3_gears_psxagb_10798233.php But doesn't look like they do any longer. (not surprised).

    GVA-24 Parts

Thanks for replying John. I do not have the dimensions. I can measure them but I am thinking it would be quite a bit of measurements as these seem very custom gears built for these controllers. I'd prefer to stay away from obtaining gears unless they were made for this application otherwise I...

    GVA-24 Parts

Just curious from you experts out there. I've had one of my 4 hayward GVA-24 fail. The motor is perfectly fine but the gears (2 of the three gears) are stripped to some extent. The valve will still sort of turn but not really. :) Anyway, In my googling I've seen lots of instances of failures...
