I appreciate any comments in advance.... looking for feedback as this is my first pool closing. Last year the pool builder did it so i tried to do as they did (as far as i could remember that is). I used a shopvac and blew from the skimmer to get the water out, then i disconnected the salt...

    Pool heater plumbing

Hi, was hoping someone could give me a few pointers. Im having a Hayward h250fdn heater put in. I have the gas guy doing the hook up and an electrician do the electrical (obviously!). so that leaves the plumbing, and i wonder about the hookup to the control panel. As you can see its a pretty...

    Closing pool... leaving it full?

thanks for the feedback. my biggest concern was with the water that will go overboard onto the decking and near my fence, but maybe im worrying a bit too much about this. I understand in other cities in ontario they are also not allowing for salt water pools to drain into city sewers either so...

    Closing pool... leaving it full?

Hi all, i have a question... i live in Canada and my pool builder (new build from last fall) says we dont need to drain the pool at all. He blew the lines out using a one way valve that lets water out but not back in. He put some foam blocks in the skimmer and thats it. He says its not...

"What a Long Stange Trip It's Been" Zappafan Pool Build

Did you fill the pool with same source of water? I like the color these liners give, at first i was sceptical but it was my pool builder that recommended it saying it would help warm the water better vs a traditional blue liner.

"What a Long Stange Trip It's Been" Zappafan Pool Build

You did some really nice work. Did the first pool builder compensate you at all for the liner? Btw nice choice of liner color, i got the same one last year, love the color of water it gives in the deep end.

    suggestion for pool deck

i just want to put something there that 1. wont be as ugly as the crushed stone 2. will keep the crushed stone in place. My pool builder suggested i put that black cloth stuff and then river rock, but im quite certain the river rock wont stay in place as the slope is too much. I dont want...

    suggestion for pool deck

I just had my stamped concrete deck poured today, the "back" side of the pool is higher than the side of my existing interlock deck due to the grading of my yard. The back end is about a foot and a half above ground level. They poured the concrete today but the side where it slopes to ground...

about to have a pool built... a few questions

Thanks for the answers. Pool build is currently underway... They will use rebar in the concrete with crushed stone for backfill with sonotubes concreted in at the same time as the pool footing. Hope it lasts!
