Dust At Bottom Of Pool - Need To Brush Every Day

Hi everyone, I'm having an issue that I hope some more-informed folks can help me with. My pool is an inground 15,000 gallon pool located in South Florida. It's hot and humid most of the year, it rains most days to some extent and my pool is close to the water, so it almost always has a...

Chlorine 12 ppm, PH 7.5, No Reading For CYA?

Hi everyone, I tested the CYA level in my inground pool last night and the CYA level in the Taylor testing kit that I use did not even get close to the 100 level - the black dot disappeared just a few drops in and a LONG way off the first marker, which is "100" and then goes up to "30". What...

    How High For Pool Valves?

Yeah, sorry - I'll try to get the wife to take some for me. In regards to all the air going out of the filter basket - I would say yes - but only sometimes. There is usually often small air bubbles in there - which increases over time.... it has been like that for 2+ years.

    How High For Pool Valves?

Hi Mike, Sorry - no pics @ the moment - I'm at work. The valves are on the suction side. When I turn the water off, there is no "spit" of any water. My concern is that the pipes might be too high (they are about 3 feet off the ground and there are 3 valves) although when I can get the system...

    How High For Pool Valves?

Hi everyone, I've been reworking some of the plumbing to my pool - the previous owner installed 3 valves about an inch from the ground, which prevented one of the valves from being able to be opened all the way. So, in my infinite wisdom, I cut the pipes, and moved all 3 valves about 3 feet...

No Backwash Option & No Multi-Valve On IG Pool

Thanks everyone. Can someone please tell me what "CYA" and "FC" is an acronym for? I've only posted 9 times here, so I don't know what they mean. Having said that, I rebuilt my house from top to bottom, inside and out so I'd like to think taking some water samples is within the range of my...

No Backwash Option & No Multi-Valve On IG Pool

Re the bromide, okay. I was just trying to follow the instructions that came with the kit, which said to test for it. Great! Saves me from having to test for it in the future. Other kit is not on it's way yet. New house, renovations and new baby. But it will be soon. The test tube has "pH &...

No Backwash Option & No Multi-Valve On IG Pool

The pressure is about 10psi when the system starts running with a totally clean filter (well, as clean as I can get it - nice and white after being hosed out) and after a full 2 days of filtering (turns on at 8am shuts off at 6 pm) it's at about 12 psi. Test Results (using my basic, two...

Thanks for the responses everyone. I will test the pool tomorrow and get back to everyone. Zea3-I can't tell if the system is working or not as I haven't gotten into the pool since I bought the house (!) and it's hard to tell if anything is popping up from the pool edge and hazy water. The...

No Backwash Option & No Multi-Valve On IG Pool

Hi everyone, First time poster, with a few questions so this is a long and fairly detailed post! Some background: I recently bought a house with an in-ground pool that was clear for a few days but turned green quite quickly. So, I shocked the pool, added some muratic acid and some stabilizer...
