does ice harm a solar cover if i leave it on the pool throughout the winter?

Is there a ballpark figure for how long pump and filter should last? Ours only gets used about4 months maximum a year.

Filter is EC65, pump is a Heyward-not sure of size but runs on 220 Pump loses pressure (gauge reads 30) after about 10 minutes. When I shut it off I bump the handle and turn it back on. Again, it runs good for 10 minutes or so. I've changed the earth in it several times and it really doesn't...
