I do not have a salt pool, but have been thinking about converting ours. The one thing that concerns me is that I have read the abrasiveness of the salt can cause equipment and parts to wear out sooner. Is there much truth to this? Thanks, Dayna

Is pool sand always white? We had a friend tell us that if it's not white, it's really probably play sand and not really pool sand. I saw a picture of HTH pool sand, and it was beige, not white. Anybody have any preferences for pool sand brands? Thanks

I wouldn't think a larger filter would save that much on water. You are just going to be using larger volumes of water at once, instead of splitting it up. You might save a little water. I do like the idea of not having to backwash as often, tho.
