We have a Sweepease Aquadynamic brush here at our condo. Works pretty well, and certainly much better than the one we replaced. John

    Oh My Gosh...

I think the pic was taken from a different side of the pool than the previous picture. Coming home to a disaster like that, he probably wasn't too concerned about taking the after picture from the same angle as the before picture. Just my guess. John

    Pump wiring question

You should be able to wire the pump up with two wires, however you should show us a schematic to be sure. Many 220 volt appliances or motors are wired differently. For example, a 220 volt 20 amp hot water heater would be wired using 12/2, 12 being the wire gauge, 2 being the number of...

    2014 Weather

Wow, we're in the pool just about every day. The weather here has been warm and humid, but recently has dried out to just warm which is fine with me. I agree about the winter being a tad bit too much and summer taking a bit to get here, but for the past several weeks it's been pretty good...

    Looking for some opinions.

Both. How about putting it where there will be a combination of sun and shade if possible? I like the idea of it being off the existing house deck, but if you do put it further from the house would definitely do as mentioned and put in a walkway of some kind with a deck area at the pool...

Intelliflo VS Pump Running Too High After System Blocked Alert

You need to get the owner's manual and check it out. It can be a PITA until you get the hang of it. My thoughts are that the pump was scheduled to run at a certain RPM and when it shut down due to the blockage you may have pushed one of the speed buttons which was set for a different RPM than...

    Skimmer Issue

I've notice at our pool that the skimmer in the shallow end of the pool never has anything in the skimmer basket. The other skimmer basket usually has debris in the bottom of it. After looking into it further, it's almost as if there is no suction at the shallow end skimmer. This skimmer is...

    How did YOU find TFP?

Took over as condo association president last October. Immersed myself in everything in regards to the property which includes a pool. When I really think of it, that's the one thing that could really cause problems for the resident if not operated correctly. Found this site looking for info...

    Photometric Test Kit

Just an update. Bought a new DPD test kit, deciding not to go with the Color Q after reading the problems people have had with it. It looks like the only who to go the route of a photometer is to spend big bucks. Also talked with the city inspector today who confirmed that it's ok to only...

    second season with BBB

What test kit do you have? Generally you test for FC and write down that reading. Using that test sample you would add another reagent and check the results which would be total chlorine. You then subtract FC from that to give you the combined chlorine reading. CC=TC-FC John

    Photometric Test Kit

Thanks for the comments. I agree it's more of a personnel issue. He means well and has been doing it for a few years because no one else did. I'll make sure I do one of the tests each day to make sure the pH and FC are where they need to be. He's agreed that any chemicals that need to be...

    Photometric Test Kit

Law states FC and pH checked four times a day. The issue is apparently his perception of colors, plus he rushes things. I checked FC around 10:15am and it was just about 2.0 He checked it at 5:45am and he put down 3.0. I think he checks it and writes down the previous reading. The other...

    Photometric Test Kit

Thanks for the info. In regards to checking the calcium hardness, you are correct, it only needs to be tested once a week. He's been checking it four times a day for a few years now because that's what he was told by the ex-president/manager who didn't know what he was doing to begin with...

    Photometric Test Kit

Hello all, We currently have a Taylor DPD Test Kit. We're a condo complex, semi-public pool, and are required to test the water four times a day which isn't an issue. The issue is there are now two of us doing the testing and possibly a third with the summer coming. One person is in his...

Thanks for that link. I'll check it out more in depth when I have more time. I met with the VP tonight so we could increase the calcium hardness. It was right at 200 and we wanted it up. I loaded up a plastic bucket of the appropriate amount of Hardness Plus and brought it out to the pool...

Thanks for the information. Our VP has been taking care of the pool for a few years now. We have a CPO that checks the pool once a week and helps get it up and running and helps close it. In between we pretty much do everything else; check levels four times a day, add chemicals as needed...
