Yes, your FC levels may get used up that quickly. Add more chlorine to bring your FC levels back up to SLAM level. Test as often as every hour if you can and add more chlorine to keep the FC at or above SLAM level as much as possible.

What is being said is that if your FC is 10 or higher, the pH reading will not be accurate. Since you need to be maintaining a SLAM level of 20+ FC, you can probably forget about getting an acurate pH reading for now until the SLAM is done. Just keep SLAMming. The more frequently you can test...
