    Replacing jandy lxi temperature sensor?

Thank you. I'll pay attention to that when I replace it. "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."

    Replacing jandy lxi temperature sensor?

Any tricks that I need to be aware of? Looks like all I need to do is unscrew the retaining bolt and replace. Is it that simple? I'm assuming that the sensor is bad. Heater setting always is at least 5 degrees higher than the actual temp in the pool. I don't remember it being that way last...

Thanks. Concrete is 22 inches on stair side and 26 on the other. 38 inches on skimmer end and about 50 on the auto cover end.

closing pool with automatic cover in Indiana

We do use our autocover as our winter cover and it seems to be holding up just fine. My pool builder closed my pool the first year and basically walked me through it so that I could do it myself in future years. I have done it myself the last three years. I leave the water level at its...

    copper and green hair

My pool also tests as having no copper but my blonde daughter gets a green tint over time because of swimming. I've convinced myself that even though the test show no copper, there must just be a small enough amount in there to turn her green over time. We use the children's swimmers shampoo...

    pool heaters

I have to disagree here. I live in IL and the heater makes the pool so much more usable to us. We don't heat it all the time, but when we choose to swim (even on a cool weekend) all we have to do is turn on the heat and I can get it to whatever temp we want. If you are going to get a heater...

    Autocover question

I have a coverstar auto pool cover and don't have any air jets. I didn't even know that was possible. Mine just rubs on the deck as it closes and opens. Still going strong after 3 years.

Great article on problems with chlorine and SWGs as solution

Re: Great article on problems with chlorine and SWGs as solu Here is the full article from Google cache. Really does make it seem like salt water pools are not chlorine pools. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... 39750.html

    Is high TA a problem?

FC 4 CC 0 TA 160 PH 7.6 CA 250 or so. CYA 70 Salt 2900 Just noticed that my TA has crept up from 120 to 160. I have been running the slide a lot and I have a new pool mister fountain to try and help cool my water that I have been running for a few hours a day. Strange thing is, is that my PH...

    Pool cover pump suggestions

The cool thing about the rule pump that I just learned is the service and warranty are excellent. My cover came with a rule pump in the fall of 08 and it just died on me last week. Turns out it has a 3 year warranty on it. I just called the number given to me by my pool builder and rule just...

    Fiberglass Pool install...

No, didn't seal it. Concrete is holding up just fine. I don't see any wear and tear or problems that I would blame on salt water. We have some cracking here and there, but nothing too bad. I consider that normal for concrete.

AquaPod Remote Showing Wrong Water Temperature

It's probably because the Raypak heater has it's own temp sensor and so does the Hayward control panel. Your remote is probably showing the same temp that is showing on your panel. I don't have the remote, but in my system, my panel shows one temp and the heater shows a different temp. Not...

    Fiberglass Pool install...

I can't really say, that's just the way my pb does it. Might have just been to get more flow on the slide. Or maybe just to make the equipment layout on the pad easier. I would assume that if it was split after the filter it would have to be split before it hit the heater and the swg. Nit...

    Fiberglass Pool install...

Yes, it's to provide water down the slide. There is actually a valve both at the pad and at the slide to turn on or off. That way I can turn the slide on at the pad and I can also easily adjust the amount of water coming down the slide at the slide valve. Nice not to have to go back to the pad...

Yes it does split. One side goes to the filter the other side goes to my slide.

    Fiberglass Pool install...

Glad you enjoyed them. We're getting ready for our full third season and can't wait for it to get warm enough to open it up. Almost there! I have no regrets in going the fiberglass route. It has been so easy to take care of and we have been really really happy with it. Good luck with your...

    Safety Nets???

I agree. Our cover is controlled by a switch which is in a locked switch box and we don't leave the key in there. Safety cover wouldn't be much good to us if the kids could easily open it up. Even though my 5 and 7 year olds can now swim like fish, we still keep it covered and locked.

    Safety Nets???

Yes, I meant Automatic cover. And yes you are correct they are an investment. In my mind, well worth it because of how easy and safe they make things. My wife can easily get the cover on/off with a flick of a switch in about a minute or two. They do work on free form pools, you just do a...

    Safety Nets???

Have you considered a auto cover? Yes I know they are way more expensive, but not only are they really safe for the little ones, but they are extremely convient. They also help keep the pool warm, clean, and help with chemical use. Mine also acts as a winter cover, so I don't have to mess...

To heat or not to heat

We have about the same size pool, also with a automatic pool cover. We have a heater and would not want to be without it, that's for sure. With the auto cover, it will keep the heat in better than without, but it's no better at getting heat in the pool than any other cover or solar cover...

Tell me some GOOD THINGS about inground fiberglass pools???

Love mine. No regrets at all. I actually have one of the leisure pools in the link provided by the previous reply. What they say is correct. I have found it to be very easy to maintain. Since the surface is smooth (no seams for things to grow in) cleaning is a breeze. I only vacuum...

Regular Inground Pool or one with an Automatic Cover

I use my auto cover as my winter cover with no issues at all. It may be because I have a fiberglass pool and I don't drain any water. The auto cover needs to have the water to give it the proper support. I'm really glad to have the cover. It definately helps with keeping my pool clean and...

Blowing out the skimmers on IGP -- blowing from the pump

I use a large gizmo that has a hole and plug on the top. Install the gizmo. This should get the hole on top of the gizmo above the water line. Then blow the lines. The water will blow out the top hole on the gizmo. Then I add some antifreeze back in the hole just in case and install the plug...
