    Chronic Low Salt

Thanks to all for your quick responses. I have a Hayward Turbo Cell T-Cell-15, got it with the original pool. I have a tester, and this is what it shows - I assume it can't be right, the salt level can't be this high... So the water is now cloudy. How low can I drain it before I refill? Or...

    Chronic Low Salt

Hi - I've had my salt water pool for nearly 10 years and have never had this problem. Typically I can easily keep the pool at around 3000 PPM, and if it dips to 2600-2700 I dump 2-3 bags in and it goes back to 3000+. About 10 days ago, the salt level dipped to 1600, which I've never seen...

    Dolphin Apollo tearing pool liner?

No, and this is a very good idea, thanks. I may look around and see if I can find a service person.

    Dolphin Apollo tearing pool liner?

Yes, it does climb the walls and do the tile line. Possibly it sits at that point a little longer than it "should", which makes sense that it could put pressure on an old liner. Although I'm not sure though what I can do about that?

    Dolphin Apollo tearing pool liner?

Thanks, and yeah that's what I thought too - it's not sophisticated, if some other part was grazing the liner I should know it. Yes, the liner is over 10 years old too, which could be a factor. The tear was actually on the wall, and I believer there were 2 of them.

    Dolphin Apollo tearing pool liner?

Interesting, thanks. I wonder how they were able to prove it to the level that Maytronics would settle with them.

    Dolphin Apollo tearing pool liner?

Hi, potentially dumb question alert. Last year we had a tear in the pool liner repaired. The guy who fixed it said the Dolphin caused the tear. The Dolphin is probably close to 10 years old, so I took his feedback at face value. That was at the end of the summer, so as we're approaching the...

    Fiberglass steps and spa stained

Hi - Our steps and spa have become badly stained, a yellow we cannot remove. I am happy to provide answers to any questions that would help give more detail into what the cause might be. I can say we have hard water, and the pH is pretty neutral. Thanks for any help that can be provided, Andy...

    No bubbles in the spa

It's not a new pool. It worked through last year. I want sure if some valve wasn't turned when the pool was opened this year. I don't think there's a blower.

    No bubbles in the spa

Hi all - So this is probably a very dumb question. When we turn on the hot tub the jets blow water but we can't get any bubbles. We've obviously turned the knobs but no luck. Is there something wrong with the pump or is there some valve we forgot to turn on? Before I call someone in I want to...

    Hayward Goldline Aqua Pod Programming

I've had this system set up since the pool was put in 3 years ago. The remote was never set up to control the heater - I don't remember why - so we've just controlled the heater manually from outside, no big deal obviously. However I was just thinking I might as well have the heater hooked up...

Stamped concrete bleached under where pool cover was

I don't see a topic specific to pool decks, so I'm posting it here to see if anyone can help me out. So when we took the cover off the pool last week, the stamped concrete underneath where the pool cover was is bleached (see photo). At first I thought the rest of the pool deck was just dirty...

    Winter Questions

Thanks Chris, I agree spring can't get here quick enough. I appreciate the response - I always like it when the response is I don't have to do anything! If we get more snow and it warms up I may decide to pump out some water. Otherwise just counting down the weeks. Enjoy the game & thanks...

    Winter Questions

Hi - I'm in northern New Jersey so I'm still a few months away from opening my pool, but there are two things concerning me: (1) We had very warm weather earlier this winter, although it's been very cold since early January. I've been told warm weather during the winter can lead to bigger...

    Stains on steps and spa

Hi all - I'm sure this is a question that's been asked many times, but I figured I would ask again. We have yellowish stains by the water line on the stairs and in the spa, both of which are gray plastic/fiberglass, I'm not exactly sure. We have very hard water in our town, and the water...

    Pool Patio Cleaner

Any advice on the best soap/cleanser for the pool patio? You know some of it will end up in the pool, so I need something very mild that won't damage the filter, heater, etc. Thanks!

    BEES!!!

Hi all - This is our second year with our in-ground pool. We have a beautiful waterfall built up with stones piled on top of each other. About 2 weeks ago we started seeing bees around the waterfall, and the number is growing by the day! Last night I moved some of the rocks they seem to be going...

    Winter Care

Thanks, I will check the water level after today's rainstorm. Hopefully I'm worried over nothing. The whole system is shut down, so if I need to drain a few inches out I'm not even sure how to do it. I'll post back if the level looks too high. Thanks again for all the help and advice.

    Winter Care

Thanks to everyone for the replies. It's an in-ground pool, and the pool was closed by the guy who put it in, not just covered (I will learn how to do it myself but for the first year we had him do it). I know they take down the water level but I don't know how far. I guess that's the...

    Winter Care

Hi, I'm a new poster here so please excuse what I'm sure is a stupid question. This is our first year with the pool. It's closed for the winter, with a mesh cover (SmartMesh). We have had a few inches of snow already, followed by a few inches of rain that washed the snow away. I know the...
