    Fake Palm Trees

Trees are about 5 years old and look as good now as they did new. I take the heads only off every season end so they don't have to deal with the weight of the snow.

    Fake Palm Trees

Well I went with the trees from Tropical Expression. I thought the trees from Oasis look better but were 2 times the cost. Also Oasis used real palm bark screwed to the trunck, I thought this might not hold up as good in harh winter weather. So I got [2] trees that I am very happy with, here are...

Autopilot Dig 220 not working correctly?

Tanks for the quick reply. I thought maybe the AP always showed your setting [mine @ 50%] and did the temp adjustment without showing the rate. What seemed strange to me was that the warmer water tep showed a lower chorine rate. I thought it shouldbe the other way. Also I raised the power...

Autopilot Dig 220 not working correctly?

This is the first season I am using a Autopilot Dig 220 with a SC36 cell and I am not sure if it is operating correctly. I started with FC of 4ppm and it is dropping. I set it at 50% per instructions and sometimes if I look at the display it shows different valves. Once it read 12 another time...

    Fake Palm Trees

So how are these holding up? I am thinking of getting 1 or 2 and can't decide which ones. I live in Buffalo and think I may like to take apart and store inside for the winter. Is that something easy to do with these tress? Just by looking I like the ones on the Oassis site, but they are by far...

Motor replacement on almost new pump

Need to update my sig, that is my old equipment. End of season did a complete rebuilt of pool. I now have a 2-speed 1.5hp tristar with the .75 impeller. Daren

Motor replacement on almost new pump

I have finished exchanging the 1.5 hp impeller with a .75 one. I can 't test to spring but expect all will be well. Thanks for every bodies help. The reason for this change, besides that the flow was too great, was to save as much energy as possible. How does running a 1.5hp equal running a...

    Temp limitations on Robots

I have a Polaris 9300 I just got end of this years season. Pool wasn't finished till early Nov and it appeared to work ok in 45 degree water. Daren

Where to locate the GFI circuit breaker for pump?

I have 230 running out of my main electrical panel to a outside sub-panel for the pool. I know that different towns/cities may have different codes but where is the preferred location for the GFI circuit breaker for pump? I have a GFI CB in the main panel inside the house, one electrian said...

    Autopilot Dig-220 Amp Draw?

Not sure yet. I will use the dig-220 to control high/low pump speed tru. Yes, it's going from breaker to timer to swg to pump. I wanted timer first to act as a failsafe so swg can't produce chlorine when pump is not running. For ease of wiring I wanted to use 12 or 14 awg wire which is possible.

    Autopilot Dig-220 Amp Draw?

230v or 240v, 1.5 amp is nothing I will be able to use 12 or even 14 awg wiring if I choose. I am sure that a timer will not add to the amp draw, but I better ask just because I have been wrong plenty of times before. It is a Intermatic mechanical timer [T104] and I assume it has little or no...

    Autopilot Dig-220 Amp Draw?

How much amp draw needs to be added for the AP Digg-220? I don't see anything in the instructions about it. I like to keep the smallest gauge wire possible to keep the wiring more manageable in the enclosure. Thanks Daren

Motor replacement on almost new pump

Great thanks. Now the very last question. I have 1.5 Hp that am putting the .75 impeller on. Now let's say in 10 years the motor needs replacing, can I put a 1hp motor on? .75hp is not available in a 2 speed Daren

Motor replacement on almost new pump

Thanks,it's a good thing I check with you experts before I do something stupid. Because I wasn't sure how small I could go I was going to replace the 1.5hp with a 1hp and if that wasn't enough I was then going to go down to a .75 impeller. When replacing the impeller on a almost brand new pump...

Motor replacement on almost new pump

Another question, would changing the impeller from a 1.5 to .75 also reduce the amp draw of the motor Thanks Daren

Motor replacement on almost new pump

Thanks for the info. If that is the case then can I just order a smaller impeller and put it in my pump then?

Motor replacement on almost new pump

I am replacing on motor on a pump with maybe 100 hours on it. Do I need to change any seals or anything or can I just change motors. I am doing this for lower HP. Daren

    Too much HP?

Electrican never showed up and I was concerned of freezing lines so I temporary install pumps to keep water moving. My quick fix was to wire the pump for one speed. My first connection resulted in high speed and psi was 28 and loud. I quickly then wired for low speed and got about 5 psi and nice...

    Too much HP?

I thought I tried my old vacuum line (1.5") to check, and it was loose. So if it is not 2" then they are 1.5. Can't tell for sure til I reopen pool this spring

    Too much HP?

The pool is closed for winter. There are two return eyeballs that I pretty sure are 2". I know that the lines are. The return lines are on equipment pad, meaning a 2" lines come off the SWCG and enters the ground, this lines then is split into 2 separate lines which go to the returns. Daren

    Too much HP?

Thanks for all the great info. One last question; What about the 1HP Tri-star 2 speed pump. In case the PB doesn't want to change out the impellar. What would the flow on that be. For that work for my application? Thanks very much for all the help. Daren

    Too much HP?

Another quick question. Based on your previous projection of flow rate: ON low speed and getting a PSI reading of 4, what is the flow rate? Thanks Daren

    Too much HP?

I see Tri-star does not have a 2-speed 3/4 HP pump. Would the 1HP Tri-star be a viable option? Or would it be better to downsize the propeller? If so which one would I have the PB order? The PB should be here within 2 weeks, He I good guy and said he won't argue about a pump but I have a...

    Wiring 220 2 speed pump

    Wiring 220 2 speed pump

Curious as to wire a 2 speed 220 pump correctly. My main concern is does a wire go to the neutral buss in the sub-panel? Hayward 2 speed tristar has 3 wires, black (high), red (low), and white. I ran white to one of the 220 power, and black/red to the other power led via a switch. I also ran a...

    Too much HP?

I think low speed is 1/2 the rpm's as high, so would that give me a flow rate of 53 GPM? The psi on low was around 4. By all means I will try to get the PB to swap pumps. The one thing I really care about is having enough flow for the SWG and heat pump to operate on low speed. Again thanks Daren
