I suspect the light niche. I have a problem with ours almost every year. We unscrew the light and lay it out to float when we are SLAMing. Scrub the niche out. under the ladder steps is a great algae hiding place, too.

Hello, so it has been 4 days since my post. The pool has been blind vacuumed, light out and scrubbed, ladders cleaned. It is still cloudy! I'll keep SLAMing, but when can I expect clear sparkling water? Thanks for your help I have brought the CYA up to 20, actually it's more like 25. FC...

Thanks for the tips. I've been vacuuming using the kreepy, but will do it by hand. Last year the light in the deep-end had been the initial culprit of algae growth. I think I will undo it and hang it free in the pool and scrub the interior hole just to be safe. Ill scrub the ladders too...

I am such a perfectionist that this CYA test is killing me. I guess it is 40, but I swear I can still see the ever-most slight greyish dot at the bottom. At 35 the dot is completely gone from my eagle eye!! Which should I choose? 35 or 40? I am guessing it is best say 40 to be on the safe...
