Stenner install: To tape or not to tape...to trim or not to trim

When the instructions state to avoid plumbing tape, they are referring to the threads on the pump where you connect the tube fittings. Don't use tape on the pump, just the the injector.

    Stenner recommendation.

The Amazon price is high, but this is what you need. I think they are about $3 at Lowes and Home Depot. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008F86H1K?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

Should I be concerned with low TA?

Thanks guys... Here are my latest test results: FC: 7 pH: 7.4 TA: 70 CH: 375 CYA: 40 Borates: 50 Temp: 88 According to PoolMath, my CSI is currently -.12 and will rise to -.32 if I let the TA sink to 50 with everything else unchanged. I wish my plaster was fairly new or redone, but that is...

Should I be concerned with low TA?

I have an overflow/waterfall in my pool that runs every day. I also try to maintain a lower PH ( 7.2-7.4 ) to help with an ongoing fight against metal stains. This combination of aeration and acid addition causes my Alkalinity to drift downward to 50 without intervention. When this happens, I...

    Seriously Considering The Liquidator--Comments?

I think it comes with 10 feet of tubing. That wasn't enough for my install, so I bought more at Lowe's for a couple dollars. It hasn't been a problem. 1 Stop Pool Store in Plano sells liquid chlorine, but it's not cheap. I buy cases of Clorox at Costco.

    ProTeam Spa Metal Magic

Right after posting, I realized that the ProTeam is only 16oz, compared to 32oz for the Magic Jack's. That explains most of the price difference, but I am still curious about the strength.

    ProTeam Spa Metal Magic

I have been using "Jack's Magic Pink Stuff" as a sequestrant in my pool to fight ongoing metal stains. At almost $25 a bottle, it gets pretty expensive. Searching for an alternative online, I discovered "ProTeam Spa Metal Magic" for just $7 a bottle...

    Interpreting CH test color change

The purple color means you have metal in the water ( I have the same problem ). From the Taylor website: http://www.taylortechnologies.com/Chemi ... ntentID=70 Beware the Fading Endpoint Occasionally when testing calcium hardness you may get a purple endpoint instead of blue. This is called...

    High CYA, CH, and Metal

I recently bought a house with a 12,000 gal pool and have been studying this site to learn how to take care of it. I just got a Taylor test kit to check the water. The issues I need to address are high CYA ( approx 200 ), high CH ( approx 700 ), and high metal content ( heavy stains on steps...
