I would go with the 15 ft yes you can cut slits but I bet you wouldn't have to with the 15 ft . I leave mine lay on the ladder don't want to cut it.

A tennis ball or some sort small ball works great in the skimmer. Just make sure it little bigger then hose.

I always take advantage of a heavy rain and Vacuum to waste. The vacuum works so much better that way and I get rid of the xtra water.

I have a clear 12 mil very happy with it leave on pool all the time inless we our swimming. Keeps pool good 10 % warmer.

I live in Nebraska I bought the clear one 12mil from Blue wave products last year and I loved it lasted all summer no problems dried and put it away looks in good shap still .
