The pump is off and no flocc has been ran through the filter. I have a recirc option. I think it might be an option to install a 3 way valve on the return so I can turn the filter off , then clost the returns and vac to waste.

For what it's worth when I had to drain. Half of the pool water did not equal half of the cya gone. I would drain it until it's empty and start fresh. I've drained twice now and I think I'm going to have to do it a 3rd time.
