New inground: Solar cover reel question for kidney / mountain lake style pool

Hey guys! I have a new inground pool and I need some advise on installing the solar cover. The pool is a humpback kidney or a mountain lake style pool. It is 41 feet in length 25 wide in shallow end and 18 feet wide in the deep end. I was thinking that I should use two solar covers and two...

Can't decide on a liner...it's driving me mad! Opinions??

Thanks for all the reply's! I ended up picking the greystone. Our PB has a video of a pool that he built and it was in greystone and I really liked the look so that sealed the deal for us. I hope we like it?! I would find it much easier picking out a color for a new vehicle than a pool...

Can't decide on a liner...it's driving me mad! Opinions??

Hi guys! Our concrete bottom has been poured on our new pool. The pool is 41x25x18, called a humpback haven from Megna pools (manufacturer). So we are stumped on a liner options. We like the turquoise (ish) look but we don't want it to be too light or clear in color. That said we do like the...

One skimmers or two?? for new build

Thanks for the reply! It's a funky liver shaped pool. I don't have many trees close to the pool but there are some on the edge of the property. $550 for the second skimmer...I need to decide soon. If its not really needed, I would rather spend the $550 somewhere else! Cheers

The whole job looks amazing! We are about to break ground in a few weeks on a 41x25x18 similar to a mountain lake design. Can you tell me some of the details of your concrete deck? Is it acid washed? Do you know the color name and brand or any details like that? If you could post a good shot of...

    Pool Build - Baltimore

Your project looks great! I have some questions about your fence. What brand is the black mesh that helps make up your fence? The fence boards are round in the middle and then square when it plugs in to the fence post? Any info on your fence would be appreciated...it looks great! Thanks! Matt

    My Pool - Houston TX

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind down the road! This will be a new pool build starting in April. Thought about tinting the first 3 feet (bullnose) and continuing the concrete out or using pavers after the first three feet? Does tinted concrete fade?

    My Pool - Houston TX

Love the pool! We are talking with a PB right now and I'm grabbing ideas such as the pool decking. So your concrete is acid etched and tinted? Do you know how many sq ft you have of decking other than the portion covered by the house? It looks great! We are looking at a 18x25x41 steel wall pool...

What is the recommended size solar system for a 20x40 pool?

Yes the plan is to go with a clear solar cover. I also think that my area would see sun 9+ hours a day in the summer months.

What is the recommended size solar system for a 20x40 pool?

We are in the Pacific Northwest near Seattle - Vancouver region. We have a lot of sun in the spot where the panels would go. We would just use the pool in the summer months and not in the spring or fall. Just hoping to get the pool as warm as possible in the summer but as cost effective as...

What is the recommended size solar system for a 20x40 pool?

Hi guys! We are considering building a pool and having the solar system as the main source of heat for a 20x40 pool. I know it will shorten the swimming season but we are considering installing propane or a heat pump the following year. What would be the perfect square footage for a solar...

New steel wall in-ground pool! Option to install insulation..is it worth it?

Hey again! Looking into having a pool built and I was wondering if it was worth insulating the steel panels with Styrofoam SM as a option? I was considering a Radiant Blue Lagoon pool as the walls are made with 2" of insulated foam. If this keeps the panels from getting too cool, wouldn't it be...

On the fence deciding on inground pool or above ground...with questions

Thanks Gwegan! We do have sunlight that would last 6 hours per day from the late spring to the early fall. I don't think the plan would be to use the pool other than late spring to early fall anyway. That is what were use to anyway! If you were to buy a heater, I thought a heat pump would be...

Is anyone currently solar heating their above ground pool?

I have a 16ft Intex 5000 gallon pool with a solar cover and the Eco saver panels. I run a Intex 2650 sand pump and it runs through the two panels and I hit 85 with mine in the summer months. I live in Victoria B.C (near Vancouver). I've been real happy with the 2650 pump and the Eco saver solar...

Buying a pool/hot tub from a local pool store- haggle?

We have a 16ft Intex and we just finished our 3rd season with it and are looking at a Radiant pool for spring as well! What size are you looking at? We have considered a buried 18x32 freeform model but will probably end up with an above ground. The concrete and fencing for the inground freeform...

    Keeping Heat In

My Intex cover was in the garbage after 30 days as it broke (Junk). I just use a clear solar cover on a reel to keep the cover off the grass. The foam boards that you're referring to would be when you set your pool on top of the foam boards (on set up). This really helps with the heat loss to...

    Is heating practical?

We just have a 16ft Ultra frame and have the two Eco Saver panels and they work awesome. The combination of the panels, foam under the pool and clear solar blanket have made a BIG difference over the first year. We live near Vancouver B.C. I would go with more Eco Saver panels, so maybe four...

Can stamped be nonslip and cool on the feet?

Wow...Your pool and deck look absolutely stunning! How many square feet is your deck area? We have the funds available and the backyard to do something really great but sometimes I feel mixed on spending A LOT of cash and maybe just going with something less over the top! When I say that yours...
