Can't get rid of Brown Water

Update July 12: Water became clear enough to see sides and bottom, so I vacuumed any remaining sediment to waste. The water is still tinted but I can now see serious stains on the seats, steps and sides. I tested for type of stain and a few vitamin c tabs were very effective, so the stain is...

Can't get rid of Brown Water

Pool continues to improve - I can actually see some of the bottom. I can see patched of debris that need vacuuming. I'm tempted to vacuum them but I think that would mix/disturb the exchange process so I'll wait till the exchange has run its course before I vacuum.

Can't get rid of Brown Water

After 3 days the water continues to improve, but it will still be days before I can see the bottom of the deep end. As helpful as the "exchange" is, there is still obviously some mixing and I worried that while my problem is diluted it will not be totally solved by this "water exchange. It...

Can't get rid of Brown Water

I didn't check the chemistry, and only checked the temperature by feel. But even if the data was not favorable, what other options are there? After 2 days, I am seeing improvement. I can now actually see the bottom of the shallow end. I just hope the improvement continues. What is your...

Can't get rid of Brown Water

UPDATE: I have installed the following sump pump AgiiMan Submersible Utility Sump Pump and it has now run for 2 days. The pump claims to be rated at over 1000 gph, so I thought one day should do it. One day didn't do much, so I checked the real flow by using a 5 gal bucket and the real flow is...

Can't get rid of Brown Water

The pool manufacturer says I can't drain the pool so I'll try to fill from the bottom and drain from the shallow end. I just ordered a Sump pump. I'll let you know how it goes. I hope the temperature difference is enough to make this work. Tim

Quickest/Easiest way to get A LOT of leaves out?

Does anyone know if there are commercial pumps that can suck leaves off the bottom of a pool . I have about a foot of leaves covering the bottom of my 20,000 gal fiberglass pool. The manufacture (Sun Pools of Florida) says the pool is likely to crack if I drain it all the way. Does any know...

    SLAM with 0 CYA?

ok - so if I add CYA, I can't backwash, but probably should. If I don't add CYA should I go ahead and add chlorine during the day anyway? What should I do?

    SLAM with 0 CYA?

Moved from here. My pool hasn't been opened in a couple of years. I'm now opening and Slamming, but my CYA is 0, so adding chlorine in the day is a waste. Can one slam effectively by only shocking at night? Recommendations?

Recommendations for a new SWG system

Prices I've seen on Amazon for the equipment are in the $400 - $900 range, so that is what I am expecting to pay, but I am willing to pay slightly more for a system that requires the least maintenance/repair.

Re: How should I heat my pool? Actually 100 uniformly throughout the pool - except at the entry point with is a few degrees warmer. We have to draw from the bottom or only the top heats up. Re: How should I heat my pool? All I can say is that I've been doing it for 10 years and it works well. We love swimming when it is snowing outside. How should I heat my pool?

I actually have a set of Aqua THERM panels that I would be willing to sell you for a good price. I used them for 5 or 6 seasons and they work excellent.
