Replace Intermatic Control Panel - Electrical Questions

The markings on the wiring is not legible. It could pass for a #6 or and #8. However, I took a part the panel and measured the thickness. I'm pretty sure it's #6 THWN. On a spectate note, I added in a second timer to run my SWG. I'll be sharing that project on a future post.

Replace Intermatic Control Panel - Electrical Questions

JZA1736, thank you for the response. You bring up a great point on the #8 THWN. It was a detail i glossed over since i didn't touch the 60A main circuit breaker feed into the subpanel nor the wiring. I went back and remeasured the thickness and it looks more like #6 THWN, which is rated at 65...

Replace Intermatic Control Panel - Electrical Questions

I didn't receive any comments, but I wanted to share that I completed the Intermatic timer control panel replacement! A1: Circuit Breakers configurations - 60 Amp feed from Main power panel (8 AWG). This control panel is broken up into 2 buses - Phase A and Phase B. I decided to reorder my...

Replace Intermatic Control Panel - Electrical Questions

Below are some pics. Clearly you can see I need to replace the panel! Q2: I'm thinking of using butt connectors, wire nuts, or I may be able to drop the control box down a couple inches. I have to believe rain/sprinklers caused all this damage. I have since removed the sprinklers, but we...

Replace Intermatic Control Panel - Electrical Questions

Hello, I'm looking to replace my Intermatic Control panel with a slightly different model Intermatic control panel. I chose to use a single timer since I removed a booster pump. I want to make several changes in the process and created a couple of diagrams to help illustrate. If the...

Raised Spa/Jacuzzi - cracked tile line repair

Thank you for the reply pooldv. Yes, I had the pool guys add in an expansion joint around the perimeter of our pool and spa. For waterline tile, I have thinset and grout from the pool store. If concrete is used and knowing hat its porous, would the grout or thinset prevent water for...

Raised Spa/Jacuzzi - cracked tile line repair

Hello, I have a crack around my spa/jacuzzi. I ripped off the waterline tile, cut a 2" band, and a secondary 3/8" band on the crack itself. I stuffed Quikrete hydraulic cement in the secondary band. However I still need to fill the primary band. It's 2" high and 1.5" deep. I have about 15'...

Construction Time! Miami, FL New Pool with Pictures and Prices Included.

Nice pictures!! We installed the 24" ivory travertine coping as well. We bought ours from NPT and they turned out GREAT!! After reading several message boards i plan to skip sealing them as it seems to have little effect. However, I'm still thinking of how to fill in all the little holes...

    Hayward SP3400VSP / Intermatic T30401R Timer

I ended up paying the pool startup guy to rewire the pump directly to the breaker. Now i have the intermatic timer turned off and elimated the buzzing sound from the heater. I like to think that it'll save me energy in the long run, but it definitely gives me peace of mind.

Pool Re-Plaster - Tile Inlay on Steps

To complete this thread, the plaster company also did the tile work. The tilers put the tile down on all the steps and it looks perfect. We had to have the spa re-leveled a few inches and the plasters reworked the tile in the spa during the re-plaster process. I got to see both tile work from...

Replaster - Rebar Exposed in Gunite

Thought I would post the resolution - the plaster company chipped away the gunite around the rebar, "burned" the rust off, and then put quick setting hydraulic cement down.

Replaster - Rebar Exposed in Gunite

Hello, I have a 2" rebar exposed in the gunite. I want to make sure the GC properly seals that before they replaster. Is hydraulic cement the best material to use? And how much should I use to prevent future rust stains from bleeding through the new plaster? Thanks.

I'm not an expert, but that crooked skimmer would really bother me. There is no tile job that would make that look straight. The opening will be crooked and the top part of the skimmer you access to clean will not be flush with the floor. I personally would stop the project and have that...

Pool Re-Plaster - Tile Inlay on Steps

We have our pool stripped down to the gunite. Originally, I was told that the tile inlay on the steps would be done by the plaster sub-contractors, but to my surprise, the tile installers put down what appears to be 1" thick mortar and laid the tiles on top of that. I'm guessing they want the...

    Hayward SP3400VSP / Intermatic T30401R Timer

Thanks for the input pooldv. I have about 2 weeks left before we fill the pool and start the pump. That's when i plan to toggle with the various speed configurations. I plan to run it a bit higher (maybe 1750-2000 rpm) for the initial week to get all the loose plaster out of the pool. I'm...

    Hayward SP3400VSP / Intermatic T30401R Timer

We are going through a pool remodel. We recently had a plumber install our Hayward VSP to the Intermatic timer. I thought since the Hayward had a it's own timer that there was no need to connect it to the timer, but that's what he did without really explaining it. The thing i found odd was...

    PVC Drain and Water Fill

Hello, :bounce::bounce::bounce: After reading this site for a year, buying the CYA kit, TF-100 kit, it feels crazy that this is my first post! I'm having my pool rebuilt and I have a question on my 1" drain and 3/4" water fill pvc pipes. Prior the PVC would be almost flush with the tile...
