I made a mistake above. My normal clean pressure is 10 psi. I backwash at 13-14 (not 18!).

I backwash when the pressure rises 8-10 psi over my clean reading. I'd say on average that's every 10-14 days, sooner if I have added DE to the filter. I should probably track that more closely. Tom
