    Question on return

Olay, the big question is about the currentreturn, it points directly across the pool. Straight ahead and it is not adjustable. Its held in place with 4 bolts. My concern is that the sn't good enough circulation to let the filter do its thing. Hopefully replacing this return jet with one...

    Question on return

Be gentle, newbie to inground pool... had above ground pools for over 20 years and haven’t run into this problem. My friend purchased a house with an oval 20k gal inground pool. About 40% is 3’ deep then drops off to about 8’ deep. There is a single return jet and a single intake for the...

Dumb question...does electric HAVE to be installed before pool install?

Our electrician couldn't come out until a week after the pool was installed. I ran a heavy duty extension cord out to the filter and ran it a couple of hours a day until he could come out.

    Blackbirds/Grackles

We've got about 2 dozen grackles that nest in a line of arborvitaes next to the house. Last year we started having problems with the fecal sacs that they'd drop in the pool and we put up one of tese http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019FAMT4/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Worked...

What is the most recommended and used automatic pool vacuum

I love our Polaris 65 (nicknamed YumYum). It took about 2 weeks to get the pressure valve set properly so he wouldn't flip over. Been running great for 2 years.

    dang ducks!!!!

+1 on the fishing line. Early last year I had a HUGE problem with grackles dropping "poop sacs" into the pool. I bought an owl which worked fantastic but this year the birds would land right next to him or fly over the pool and drop the sacs into the pool and all over the top rails. I...

Question about getting pool water tested at store

Personally, I've used the Pool Store for the last 2 years. They test for free, I get it done every Saturday. Pool is crystal clear. I add 1.25 qts of 12.5% liquid chlorine every 3rd day. No tablets, no algecide, one pound of PH+ when I first opened the pool this spring. Family owned store...

Which filter should I go with, Sand, Cartridge, or D.E.??

Re: Which filter should I go with, Sand, Cartridge, or D.E.? We've got a sand filter and LOVE IT! our pool is crystal clear, backwash once a month only because I feel better about it not because pressure has built up. Each spring I use the garden hose to float out any particles that aren't...

Help with easyset intex: wrong way ring

From the photos it appears the ring looks over-inflated and the pool looks like there's not enough water in it. We used to fill ours up so the water was just at or slightly above the seam.

    New AGP today FINALLY

Re: New AGP today almost our PB had contacted the "Call Before You Dig" folks via computer - did everything but get the confirmation number. So no one came out to check for utilities, and even though we live in rural NW NJ and there are no underground utilites the PB wouldn't start the job...

    Do I need a filter?

    Permit question

we got the permits because a.) the installer wouldn't install the pool without one which was fine with me and b.) I wanted to ensure we'd be covered from an insurance perspective if anything were to happen. The building inspector was great, tested our locking ladder three times and signed off...

    Pool Build Journey

NICE setup! what kind of piping did you run for the solar? Did you tie into the return with a ball valve so you can divert to the panels during cooler months and by-pass during the summer? I'm thinking of picking up a pair of 10' panels to use during early May to get the water warmed up.

Dane's "How To" for a quick & easy pool cooler

I like this design! I'm off to the Depot tomorrow for parts. I"m going to try a 90 degree elbow at the bottom. I'm thinking that if I set it to point to one side I'll get a nice counter clock-wise swirl if/ when I open the Tee. Good for when I add chlorine. I just got my second set of...

    Getting concerned with CYA level

 Pool store is about 2 miles away! Great family who runs the place. They answered a lot of my questions about AG pools, permits/ build times/ sizes/ depth/ liners/ fences/ etc while DW and I went back and forth over IG vs AG for 2 years. and yes, our water is extremely hard so that...

    Getting concerned with CYA level

Hey all! DW and I have been having good luck with our above ground beauty since it was installed last spring but... I"m concerned with the CYA level. When I opened the pool this spring I shocked it with a couple of pounds of powdered shock and some Calcium as per the pool store. I also added...

    New pool coming

I'm a big fan of the Polaris 65. It used to flip over or keep turning right and get coiled up. It took me a couple of weeks to tune the pressure vis the pressure relief valve on the house, now it runs fine. We run it Mon - Fri and take it out on the weekends. Sent from my DROID RAZR using...

    leveling the ground - nightmare

When it comes to grading you're money is best spent in hiring someone with experience. I spent about 4 to 6 hours each spring trying to level out the pad on which our old 16'x36" Intex sat.. And every year the Darn thing sat 3" off level. Even after cutting sod, moving dirt, buying a...

    Need inexpensive quality pool suggestions!

we did a 16'x36" Intex pool for 3 years before we upgraded to an AG pool. The Intex cost us 200 bucks for the pool, ladder, cover, pump and ground cloth and a hundred bucks for a delivery of sand to level the site out. I took it down every fall, dried it out with a leaf blower and dragged it...

    Strange Sound Coming from "deck"

according to the brood maps you're not due for a cicada emergence until 2016 or 2019 but it's always a possibility. Have you put a volt meter on the rebar to see if there's any kind of juice hitting it? That does sound like some kind of harmonic vibration. Is there any kind of heavy industry...
