    TF-Pro Salt

No, not a screw up. Clean both with alcohol and use the same one for chlorine going forward.

    TF-Pro Salt

That is the one I bought a year ago to start testing. First ever pool installed last year. Seemed a bit overwhelming at first, but honestly, it is something I look forward to. Kind of relaxing to go out and take care of the pool (probably because it is so easy!). I have refilled Chlorine and PH...

    Possible algae problem

And to second @Newdude , last year I tested daily. Going into year two I can see it being every other day/couple of times a week thing now that I am comfortable with SWCG percentages and pump run time.

    Possible algae problem

For additional information, I am in Florida too and I ran mine 24 hours at 25% last summer to keep up with demand.

What did you do to your pool today?

It came with the pool and mounts in the stairs. I like the brightness, but do not like how the stairs cut off a portion of the light...

    New Pool Owner

Welcome! Add the pool and equipment info to your signature. Will help the experts here (not me) provide you quick info in the future. As a newer member, I recommend picking up a test kit, the TF-Pro Salt is what I have been using for the past year. I know others will chime in with links. Not...

What did you do to your pool today?

Never really "closed" it, but got it ready for summer last weekend. Temp was in the 90's all last week, so by Saturday water was in low to mid 80's. Had family in the pool all weekend.

    Hi from Texas

I'll chime in as I going into our second summer with our first pool. As mentioned, I did every test almost every day in July/August last year. I was even checking chlorine twice a day in the height of summer to be sure I understood all the ramifications. Had to reorder FC testing agents withing...

Truly torn - SWG or Chlorine

+1 for SWCG. Did tons of research beforehand and now I could no imagine having to deal with chlorine daily. So glad I found this group to help me with information last year.

    Hi from Texas

I would probably fight someone for my SpeedStir. LOL....First pool was last summer. Went about two weeks before I received my testkit/SpeedStir. Such a small thing but makes the process so much easier.

I used the swirl method for a few weeks before I got my SpeedStir. I agree, I may fight someone for it. LOL

What's one thing about pool maintenance that most people don't realize, but really should?

That it is sooo easy. Just have to do the research and really NOT overthink. Finding this website BEFORE I had a pool built was the greatest thing to happen. I am now helping other family members come around to the TFP methods as they comment on how clear my pool is and the lack of effort I have...

    Getting ready for Helene

Understood. Have a generator and it came in handy last night and today. Power is back on now. We did not get a lot of rain, but the wind was pretty crazy overnight.

    Getting ready for Helene

I have this pump and it works really well for me. Noted my pool is much smaller than yours, but I can lower my 18' over 2" in about an hour. I would purchase and keep in box just have in case you need it.

    Drop size for Taylor R-0871

I am seeing the same behavior with my new bottle of R-0871 from TFTestkits. Much smaller droplets than my original bottle. I tried with a third backup bottle that I purchased as a spare and am getting the same small droplets compared to my original bottle. Now I wonder if I have been "running...

TFP branch out to brick and mortar?

I had the same train of thought, wondering if there was any pool maintenance companies who follow TFP for their clients. Obviously, we know it is easy for anyone, but there will always be a subset of people who do not want to or make the time to take care of their pool. It would seem a TFP clear...

How Clear is TFP Clear? Let's See (Pics Only Please).

A little encouragement and reinforcement. Built our deck this weekend and could not resist taking pics of our clear water from above. Total pool newbie (July 2024), but spent a solid month researching pools and came across this site. Bought in hook line and sinker and the water has looked like...
